The flame of the candle
dances its life cought
on the breeze that passes
Life is like that flame
fragile and flickering
waiting to gutter out...
The girl who stands in
the bathroom staring at
her reflection wondering
what is it all for...
The little boy who hides
from the sting of the belt
and the pain of broken bones
just wants it to end...
The woman who stands at the
edge of the grave staring at
the coffin of her baby girl
who was at the wrong place at
the wrong time...
The old man who sits alone at
the table he once shared with
his soul mate who passed away
and is feeling the cold of loneliness
seep into his bones...
The time comes when we can
feel our flame dancing flickering
and it makes us stop and think
to contemplate out past and
future trying to decide if we've
done enough or do we need to do more...
There are those who feel that their
light is about to gutter giving up
hope of that light ever getting stronger
they decide to blow out the light...
Their are those that take the light they
have for granted thinking it will always
be there to keep them warm
but when they relies that they are about
to loose it they are left wishing they
could turn back time...
If you take the time to guard and
nurture your light it will last you
don't take it for granted
cherish it and love it and it will
see you through till the end.
