We all know every sports freak has thought about it--which football players could survive on the basketball court? Which basketball players on the football field? I did not bother with which football players would make it in the NBA, because I think they would all make it. They would just have to change the maximum fouls from 6 to 12 and allow flagrant fouls. But basketball players are a different type of athlete from basketball players. If you had to attribute a type of music to each sport, football would be heavy metal and rap and basketball would be more like jazz and R&B. Basketball is more of a smooth sport while football is more rough. I have picked the top 5 players from the NBA who could make a successful transition to the NFL.
1. LeBron James,
Cleveland Cavaliers
Height: 6'8"
Weight: 250 lbs.
Basketball Position: Small Forward
Football Position: Wide Receiver
Of course, Lebron James has to be up on this list. He even played wide receiver in high school. He has the strength, the height, and the speed. He has a vertical that most cornerbacks would not be able to match. He would be easy for any quarterback to lob to. He could run a good route or he could just bomb everybody every time. I mean what would they do.....Plus he already has the perfect touchdown celebration, he would just do a 360 windmill dunk on the goal post.
2. Shaquille O'neal,
Phoenix Suns
Height: 7'1"
Weight: 325 lbs.
Basketball Position: Center
Football Position: Offensive Line, Defensive Line
Shaquille O'Neal is a beast in the post, and would be a beast on either side of the line of scrimmage. I see Shaq more on the defensive side of the ball, at defensive tackle. He is a big guy and he would really be a good run stuffer on any team. He has a good vertical leap and good hands, so he would bat down a lot of balls at the line of scrimmage. I would hate to be the quarterback on the other side of that ordeal. If he ever scored a touchdown, better hope he doesn't do what LeBron does or else he'll bring down the goal post.
3. Ron Artest,
Houston Rockets
Height:6'8"
Weight: 246 lbs.
Basketball Position: Forward
Football Position: Defensive End
Yep, Ron Artest made this list. The guy is a beast. If you see in the post, he does look like a defensive player by nature. We all know he is tough and fearless from the incident in Detroit. I mean who runs into a crowd of the opposing team. You put him on the outside and tell the quarterback he threw a drink at him while he wasn't looking and he'll get some sacks.
4 Jason Kidd,
Dallas Mavericks
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 210 lbs.
Basketball Position: Point Guard
Football Position: (come on guys) Quarterback
Jason Kidd would be the ideal pick at quarterback, I mean he has amazing vision and plays with people with his eyes. He is a precision passer, of course he would have to get used to passing with only one hand. He knows all about ball placement and spin on the ball, he would have to get used to outside conditions but yeah he would be a good quarterback. Come on guys, he has eyes in the back of his head, so he would always see the sack coming.
5. Allen Iverson,
Detroit Pistons
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 180 lbs.
Basketball Position: Guard
Football Position: Running Back
Yes, yes, yes, Allen Iverson would make a hell of a running back. The guy is extremely fast and tough, he is NBA's iron man. He did play football in high school as a quarterback, but he would be better as a running back. Once he gets into the secondary very few would be able to catch him and even then they would have to deal with his devastating crossover juke.
