Say there is a person who in the past has had reprehensible behavior and has become imfamous for said behaviors. Part of the motivation for this behaviour is feeling unimportant. When the offensive actions draw attention and notereity, the person gets the reward of feeling powerful.
For this reason, I would disagree with the practice of mass negative attention.
However, if the person made a change and achieved a highly prolific moment in a good way, ie no fraudulent or extortionary means, and prefaced it by admitting that past behaviour was wrong, then is it better to:
A: Reward the achievement by praising the correct methods and encouraging the person to seek even further growth in that direction
or
B. Send the silent message of allowing the person to gain a status position and then completely ignoring the person as irrelevent, and unworthy of our notice.
Yes, this mumm's very existance invalidates the point of choice B but it is food for thought for the future.
