praying for sleep to come waiting for the escape when there's nowhere to run
wanting to find that place deep inside
hidden and safe underneath the mask we hide
a place untouched by the pain outside
peaceful oblivion a tranquil void
purged of feeling a solitude unsoiled
eyes closed tight and feeling numb
wanting the the darkness to blot out the sun
wanting to feel the emptiness of the world undone
no more scars no more pain no one here to know my name
no more judgement no more shame spreading my wings alone and unstained
