I want to know how many people on Lost Cherry have a FFV(flex fuel vehicle). I am researching the current use of, and possible future use of corn based petroleum products.
I am a huge proponent of these fuels for the simple reason of economics. The more fuel that can produced stateside the less dependant we will become. The other reason, and primary one, is that the American farmer has busted thier humps providing food for every single American and about 40% of the world. Yet there are farmers everyday that file bankruptcy because they can't pay thier bills. Hybrid crops are so productive that it keeps this valuable commodity(grains) so low that the average farmer shoots for a break-even harvest. In a lot of places in the U.S. if there is a flood or other natural disaster that ruins the first planting of crops, the farmer will lose money that year.
With increased FFV usage in America it will force more Ethanol Plants to be errected and allow our farmers to get a better price for their tireless work in the fields.
Did you know that in places where a farmer has the option of selling his grain at an elevator or to an Ethanol facility they get almost 25 cents a bushel more for there product. Our Grainbelt here in the U.S. could be the answer to alot of our global needs.
Just think if we were able to "grow" 50% of our fuel needs right here. Our loved ones may never need to be in harms way again.
