Dream Deferred
...And so I sit here, emotionally emotionless after the obscuring grey cloud shaded the entrance of this daunting dream... The blue begins to fade the aqua beneath, knowing what is to come I clutch your hand and grit my teeth. The hot pink ringing in my ear disturbs the surface calm of the pigment covered face. That surface calm covers the turmoil within, Stirring, bubbling like carbonation, jostling up memories of better times, better places, When we didn't have to hide the frown beneath smiling faces. And though my heart is opaque, it is partially obscured by my sleeve. The buzz signals our entrance and all that I can do is breathe. The glistening green stone casts light and color through the pigment as she speaks, set upon her nose, quiet and meek.
I search for words that will not come, from a voice no longer heard. The crimson threshold we have crossed through salty tears has blurred. An echoing of silence, illustrates this dream deferred. The colorless form, the life in the shadows shall cease to exist, But until then we await, thunderous heart pounding for an end...
To this cursed day.
