Daily Gratitude
Most of my dreams have been shattered
I Guess, what I planned didn’t matter.
The schemes I had, they seemed so grand.
God might have laughed when, I told him my plans.
The door to the future, wish I held the key.
Even still, I don’t always know what’s best for me.
Given the choice, would we allow pain?
Would we allow the storms even if, it meant rain?
There’s so much I don’t know.
Why does it take sorrow to help us grow?
Why can’t we have the beauty of snow without the cold?
Why can’t we stay young and never grow old?
I now know, I can’t change time but,
Time can change me.
No longer am I, the person I used to be.
As each day starts to unfold,
I know not, what it will hold.
I shall take each day as a blessing.
I’ll overlook the bad that, makes life depressing.
I’ll be thankful for each day and every minute.
I’ll be thankful for life, just to be in it.
