working for Bernie

In the socialist republic of Vermont I flip the bill.  The "ethnic" (non-white of course we can't be helping too many white people now can we?) refugee, the social worker (aka the parasite class), the welfare reject and any other demograph that refuses to take a mydol, change their tampon, clean the sand out from where the sun don't shine and pull their own weight.

For some reason Uncle Bernie thinks it is my responsibility to pay the way for these people.  Me.  The white, christian man.  sure he would go easier on me if I just stopped working and put faith in the system he has designed to reward me for not even trying in the first place.

But for some reason, I cannot bring myself to eat out of his communist hands.

So you work for a wage that'll be stole from you by the state in their evil scheme to crush the working class.  Growing ever bitter at the fat, the lazy, the self-righteous television educated.

Working with ladder's in the ice & snow is actually more fun than it sounds, but not by much.

When the cold came in this season, my work ethic kept me warm.  For a while.  When that didn't work I bought better long underwear and thicker socks.  When it got colder I worked harder to burn more energy and it helped keep me warm.

"C'mon, you wimp! Nobody wants to hear your problems," I'd tell myself as it got colder and work harder.  I was right too.

It got colder than that and we could all see the lay offs coming, so we worked harder in competition to who got to keep the job.  Strapping an aluminum ladder onto a snow & ice encrusted ladder wrack saps the heat from your fingers unbelievably fast.  Returning warmth makes your finger nails throb like they are going to fall off and I wonder if that would be an awesome line for a death metal song.

When it got colder still, tools started failing, trucks won't start, machine's break and you're left shaking your head and the excuse, "It's too cold,"

When it get's colder still, your supervisor tells you; "We're not going out there today it's too cold," and you realize that you've had more sympathy for the tools, equipment, & machinery you work with this winter than your co-worker's... or yourself.
