Alrighty, I'm not entirely sure how to do this thing but please bear with me while I try.

To start with, I am strongly involved in the life of my ex's daughter. She's 5 and her dad was absolute garbage. I am the only man in this world she has ever called Daddy. She may not be mine biologically but in my heart of hearts I know that kiddo is mine. So if you have any kind of issue with the fact that I'm doing all I can for a child who isn't actively in my life, that's why your browser has a damn back button.

Now that I'm past that, let's get some introductions goin, shall we? My name is Scott and I am a transplanted Southern boy (born and raised on the panhandle of Oklahoma) making my way up here in CT. I got out of the Army (active duty, stationed at Fort Huachuca) and back from Iraq (Mosul) a little while back and now I'm getting everything set up to start winter courses so I can become a high school history teacher. My life is currently devoid of drama and I aim to keep it that way for as long as possible.

I feel I have to warn folk that I am a medicinal marijuana patient. I didn't list it under drugs because I have a prescription for it. Imagine if you had to click yes for prescriptions you were on? I never smoke when I have to be responsible or around people who are uncomfortable with it. In the meanwhile, if you have some strong personal or ethical dislike for the plant and don't feel my own personal restrictions on it are strong enough, I am not the guy for you. Just FYI.

I'm a very outdoorsy kind of guy. I love to fish, camp, hike, listen to thunderstorms, work in the garden, or just sit outside on a nice day with a good book. My family is very important to me and they know I would do just about anything for them. I have a two year old sister who loves to take up as much of my time as she possibly can and I'm inclined to let her. I have three great (but sometimes louder than all get out) dogs. I do all I can to make sure I'm the kind of person my sisters and dogs think I am.

My sense of humor is probably my greatest attribute because it has got me out of some of the toughest times in my life. One of my drill sergeants was quoted as saying "Burton, you're lucky I love a smart ass or you would have been done with by now". I think he's right on more levels than he knew.

I am a very good cook and love to bake. I am full of useless trivial knowledge and love to share the things I know. I believe the sharing of knowledge is one of the most important acts a person can partake in. I think there is little better than going for a ride with someone amazing. I'm not much of a driver though (I drove a lot in Iraq and it's really nerve wracking to drive back here in the states, I'm getting used to it again though).

I like going out for dinner but I also love quiet nights in on the couch with my arm around somebody special. I love tattoos and want to get more as time permits. I'm more than a bit of a cuddler and am very affectionate. I'm a firm believer in loyalty and a great hater of cheaters.

As for music, I am a born and bred metal head. It started with the hair metal of the 80's and quickly grew into an almost all encompassing love for metal in all it's beautiful forms.

I'll be updating this profile as I think of pertinent information but I'm not going to put it all here. Some things you'll just have to find out for yourself.
