(Sports Network) - Hoping to avoid losing three straight for the first time in nearly two months, the Buffalo Sabres will try to pick up a fifth victory in a row over the Edmonton Oilers in tonights meeting at Rexall Place. Authentic Keiland Williams Jersey . The Sabres have dropped two straight and four of their last five, putting them in position to lose three consecutive games for the first time since a five- game drought from Oct. 26-Nov. 5. They were dealt a 5-2 setback in Calgary last night for their fourth road loss in a row. Drew Stafford and Patrick Kaleta scored the goals and Ryan Miller made 28 saves for the Sabres. We got the lead and the next 40 minutes it was just poor decisions on our part, said Buffalo center Jochen Hecht. We just have to focus and do our job out there. The Sabres played without leading scorer Derek Roy and defenseman Tyler Myers on Monday. Roy is out for the season with a torn left quadriceps, while Myers sat out last nights game with flu-like symptoms. Buffalo has done well over Edmonton as of late, having not lost to the club since Oct. 16, 2003 in western Canada. Behind a hat trick from Stafford, the Sabres blew out the Oilers, 10-2, in their last meeting at Rexall Place on Jan. 27, 2009. Stafford also had a goal in last seasons more modest 3-1 home victory. Miller has been in net for each game of the Sabres current four-game win streak over the Oilers, posting a 1.25 goals-against average. The Oilers return home for five in a row after going 0-2-1 on a recent road trip. Edmonton failed to salvage the finale of the swing on Sunday, losing 3-2 in Vancouver. The Canucks got their first tally of the game with 46 seconds left in the second period on the way to three unanswered goals. Kevin Bieksa sent Edmonton out of town with a loss on his game-winning goal with 24 seconds left in regulation. That goal we gave up at the end of the second was a tough goal to give up, Edmontons Ray Whitney said. You cant give up odd-man rushes like that. The level is there for us, we just have to start getting wins. Whitney scored and Ryan OMarra added his first NHL goal for the Oilers, who have lost five of their last six. Nikolai Khabibulin made 30 saves in defeat. Though defenseman Tom Gilbert is day-to-day after suffering a left knee injury on Sunday, forward Ales Hemsky could return to the lineup for the Oilers tonight. Hemsky has 18 points in 21 games, but hasnt played since Dec. 1 due to a groin injury. Hemsky has two goals and three assists in five career games versus the Sabres, while Khabibulin is 5-7-0 with three ties and a 2.11 GAA when facing them. Julio Jones Youth Jersey . A Saputo Stadium crowd of 12,443 saw the home side outshoot Baltimore 24-7 only to be continually frustrated by the play of Bush. In the ninth minute, Bush dived to stop a header from Tony Donatelli. Miles Austin Jersey ." In his first comments since the NFL handed down the penalty last week, Roethlisberger apologized to his teammates and fans for his behaviour last month in a Georgia bar, where a 20-year-old college student accused him of sexual assault. Jason Witten Jersey . Jiri Hudler et Drew Miler ont aussi fait bouger les cordages pour les Red Wings. Brandon Dubinsky des Rangers a réduit lécart à 2-3 avec 4:05 à faire. Les siens nont toutefois pas réussi à égaler le score, bien quils aient fini le match en surnombre. Authentic Nick Fairley Jersey . The best-of-seven series is tied at 1-1 ahead of Game 3, which is played on Tuesday night. Two further games take place in Boston, on Thursday and Sunday, meaning the title could be wrapped up before the series goes back west. Darren Sproles Youth Jersey . Nick Winbush netted 17 points in the win for Miami-Ohio (3-4), while Antonio Ballard and Orlando Williams added 11 points apiece. Xavier (5-2) was led by 18 points from both Mark Lyons and Tu Holloway. Authentic Jahvid Best Jersey . The Islanders won their third meeting in a row in this series earlier this season when they slammed Colorado, 5-2, at Nassau Coliseum on Oct. 16. Milan Jurcina had a pair of goals in that game and Dwayne Roloson, who has since been traded to Tampa Bay, stopped 28 shots to record the win. Authentic Drew Brees Jersey .C. -- Brett Sutter and David Van der Gulik had a goal and an assist each as the Abbotsford Heat kicked-off their eight-game home stand Friday night with a 3-1 win over the Texas Stars in American Hockey League action. Matthew Stafford Youth Jersey . At the two-day summit in the ROKs resort island of Jeju, the third of its kind, Premier Wen Jiabao, Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama and ROK President Lee Myung-bak made rapid strides in efforts to elevate the trilateral relationship to a new level, improve the mechanism of, and deepen, regional cooperation.UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- Just like that, the Montreal Canadiens can feel good about their place in the standings instead of worrying about who is closing in behind them. Saku Koivu scored the first of Montreals three power-play goals, and Alex Kovalev had three assists as the Canadiens opened a season-ending road stretch with a 5-1 victory over the New York Islanders on Thursday night. The Canadiens (40-27-10), who vaulted over the New York Rangers into seventh place in the Eastern Conference, scored two goals in each of the first two periods and cruised to a critical win over the last-place team in the NHL. Montreal has a one-point lead over the Rangers with five games left, one more than New York -- which lost 4-2 at Carolina on Thursday. The Canadiens are three points ahead of ninth-place Florida and just two behind Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. "Its fun to have your destiny in your own hands," forward Alex Tanguay said. "We knew that no matter what the Rangers were doing tonight, we knew we had one game in hand on them. And if we just won our games, we were going to move up." Mathieu Schneider and fellow defenceman Andrei Markov also scored power-play goals -- set up by Kovalev -- and Tanguay and defenceman Mike Komisarek added even-strength markers for the Canadiens, playing four of their final six on the road as they push for the playoffs. "Were not looking at where were at in the standings, were just looking at winning games," Tanguay said. "Points are crucial and its going to be no different for us Saturday in Toronto." The line of Tanguay-Koivu-Kovalev has scored 27 points in the five games it has been together and 12 of Montreals past 21 goals. "We had success in the first game and kept going," Koivu said. "The whole team is playing a whole lot better right now." Jaroslav Halak, subbing for No. 1 goalie Carey Price (flu), made 26 saves for his 17th win. Montreal recorded 38 shots on Yann Danis and improved to 5-3-3 under coach Bob Gainey. The Canadiens are 4-0-1 in their last five. Montreal was 35-24-7 when Gainey, also the clubs general manager, fired coach Guy Carbonneau and stepped behind the bench. "We feel good," Tanguay said. "Weve played better, and hopefully we can keep on improving. We are a team that felt at the start had a lot of potential. We maybe underachieved but even though were 77 games into it, the season is still young and we can still make some good things happen." Jeff Tambellini made it 4-1 in the second period for the injury-plagued Islanders, who were missingg injured leading scorers Mark Streit (groin) and Kyle Okposo (groin) and played in front of a home crowd that largely supported the visiting Canadiens. Authentic Eli Manning Jersey. The Islanders are on a 2-6-1 skid after winning five of seven (5-1-1). New York has allowed 29 goals in the past seven games. "Weve been playing pretty good, and this was a disappointing effort for our team," veteran Islanders forward Doug Weight said. The chants of "Go Habs Go!" and "Ole! Ole! Ole! Ole!" filled Nassau Coliseum even before Koivu staked the Canadiens to a 1-0 lead with 6:57 left in the first, 34 seconds into rookie Sean Bentivoglios holding penalty. Kovalev found Koivu with a pass in front for the captains 16th goal. Schneider, a former Islanders player, made it 2-0 with 1:29 left in the period when he ripped a shot from the centre of the blue-line -- off a pass from Kovalev -- that appeared to hit the stick of Islanders defenceman Radek Martinek before beating Danis. That came seven seconds into Tim Jackmans cross-checking penalty. The goal increased the cheers from the large pockets of red-clad fans throughout the arena. Tanguay pushed the advantage to three goals 1:11 into the second with his 15th goal, and Markov made it 4-0 at 3:12 when he sneaked in toward the left post and finished a fine passing play started by Koivu and Kovalev. Markov needed only 30 seconds of Jackmans slashing penalty to score. "Im upset about the penalties," coach Scott Gordon said after the Islanders gave Montreal eight power plays. "If youre going to take a penalty, its to save a goal. I dont think there were too many saved goals tonight." Tambellini beat Halak at 9:05 to cut the Islanders deficit to three goals, but Long Island native Komisarek made it 5-1 just 44 seconds into the third period with his second of the season. "Its a lot of fun heading into the third with a three-goal lead and being up 4-0 at one point," Tanguay said. Tom Kostopoulos had a chance to widen the lead, but he was stopped on a penalty shot by Danis with 15:56 left. Notes: Montreal recalled G Marc Denis from Hamilton (AHL) to serve as Halaks backup. ... Kovalev has recorded multipoint games four times in five games (6 goals, 5 assists). ... Rookies C Trevor Smith and LW Bentivoglio were recalled by New York from Bridgeport (AHL). Bentivoglio became the 13th Islanders player to make his NHL debut this season and the 16th rookie to play. ... Islanders C Andy Hilbert was knocked out of the game with a rib injury. ... New York has lost 542 man-games to injury. ' ' '
