Hi I hope you had a great weekend and your week is off to a great start. I went with mum to the hospital today to get the results of her MRI scan. Great news!! The cancer has all gone!It hasn't spread anywhere, so she doesn't have to have any more treatment! They did say that there is one lymph node that couldn't be removed with the other couple that had some cancer cells in it when she had her surgery. So mum will have to go for scans and checks every 4 months. But the prognosis is positive!! They also said her brain scan was clear, so no leisions. They think the paralysis in her arm and hand was due to the chemo and now she isn't having any treatment the feeling and use should come back completely over time!! Thank you so much for all your words of comfort and support over the last months, it's been a very difficult time for me and my family.Your friendship and support means so much to me. Hugs Linda xx

Hi Hope your weekend was a good one, and i hope your coming week will be a speedy one!!! Mum still hasn't got any use of her hand but she does have some feeling back - she can open and close her hand. She will be having a full body scan on Tuesday to see if the cancer has spread to any other tissues/organs. Mum won't have any chemo for a couple of weeks until the results of the scan are through. The doctors will also be looking to see if there is any cause for the paralysis in her arm - like any leisons in the brain etc. Once again, thank you so much for your continuing support. Hi I hope you are well and having a good week. I am still having tremendous support from some really great friends on here so i thought i would give you the latest update on my mum's battle with cancer. She was still struggling with her breathing after the latest chest infection that landed her in hospital but she was coping with the help of her nebuliser which she was using 4 times a week. The thing she was really struggling with though is the terrible fatigue. She is so tired she is fighting to stay awake in the afternoon and evenings and this is getting her 'down'. On Monday the had some bad pains in one of her arms and hand and within a couple of hours she had lost all use of the arm and hand. As you can imagine she was terrified so we got to the hospital but the doctors don't really know why this has happened. Her chemo session was cancelled today because there could be a connection with her chemo but she has to have a brain scan and some x-rays. She will be seeing her consultant on Monday and hopefully he will be able to tell her when the scans and stuff will be done. She has some feeling back in her arm but not in her hand, she can't even open and close her hand. Please keep her in your prayers, she has been through so much, i really don't know how much more she can take. Thank you for reading and for all your continuing support. Hi I hope you are having a good week. As you may be aware i am looking after my mum who has lung cancer and as a result i don't get on here much at the moment. I was stuck at Fuberlord for the longest time lol. But a few of my very good friends kept coming back and forth rating my pics and stash(when we had it!!)everyday to help me out. I did my best to return all love given even though i wasn't on here for long. But today a bunch of other people joined forces and rated the heck out of my pics and i have moved up to Henchman!! I want to say a huge 'thank you' to those who took the time to help me, i have never had this kind of help before and i want you to know i really appreciate all your efforts. These people really rock so please stop by and show them lotsa lurve ...... I would also like to show my appreciation to these friends that popped to my page as and when they could, (((hugs))) If you have helped me but i haven't added you to my list then please accept my apologies, it isn't deliberate. Hi there I hope all is well and good in your world, I thought i would post an update on my mum's condition as i have had such tremendous support from my fu-friends. Mum is out of hospital as of this morning (sat July 5th), i actually get a 'day off' as my sister is spending the entire day and most of the evening with mum. The doctors have given mum some tablets to clear the fluid from her lungs and rest of body so it makes the 'work' easier for her heart.She will have to live with the left-sided failure as they said there isn't much they can do for it. Her chest infection has cleared up thanks to the bombardment of oral and IV antibiotics and she has been on (and has one to use at home) a nebuliser 4 times a day to help 'open' her airways. The doctors decided that her only chance to beat this cancer is to continue with the chemo so as her infection had gone and her cough had cleared they gave her the liquid chemo Thursday and she will have the tablet form on Tuesday 9th July. Then she will have a week with no treatment and then it starts over with the liquid chemo and overnight stay in hospital followed by the tablets the next week then a week off and so on. So mum is still fighting and still trying to remain positive even though she's been very ill. I have passed on all your well wishes and prayers and she and i would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you so much for caring. Love Linda xx

Hi I hope you are having a good week. I received a phone call last night, my mum has been admitted to hospital with breathing difficulties. The doctors have diagnosed a chest infection and left - sided heart failure. Her chemo has had to be put on hold for now. Please keep her in your prayers, she is vey poorly at the moment. I'm going to be back and forth the hospital again so i won't be on here much but i will try to get on in the evenings where possible. I will miss you all while i'm away, stay safe all. EDIT It looks as though mum has some liver problems too and the chemo will be stopped permenantly. If that is the case they will try and find an alternative treatment for the cancer. My mum is undergoing some tests at the moment - ECG,Echocardiograms,Blood tests,X-rays and a Body scan. She is on IV antibiotics for the chest infection but they are having trouble stablising(sp) her temperature. Thank you all for your kind words, they mean so much ((((hugs)))) to you all. Hugs Linda

She's still fighting though and remains positive. I am still up there alot so will try and return any love you leave me but it will be in short bursts as my time on here is limited.

Just thought i'd drop a line to let you know the latest. My mum's wounds are healing well after the removal of half her lung and some lymph nodes to remove her lung cancer. She still has pain but that is getting better with time. She has now started chemotherapy and this will continue for 2 week blocks then 2 weeks off and go on for 4 - 6 months. We are really hoping she won't be as ill with this chemo as she was when she had chemo for her breast cancer. Please say a prayer for her to come through this as easily as possible. Hi If you have read my previous blog you will know that my mum has recently had surgery for cancer. We were told originally that the cancer was contained and it was all removed during the surgery. We have since learned that this was not the case and the cancer had infact spread to at least one lymph node and now my mum has to go through chemo once again (she had breast cancer 4 years ago which spread and she had to have 6 months of aggressive chemotherapy which made her extremely ill). She is due to see her consultant in a few days and we should know exactly whats what then. Please keep her in your prayers and keep your fingers crossed for a positive outcome. Thanks for reading.
