| Ok, so I just brought a dog home from the Humane Society Shelter where I work. I have a cat already at home that I absolutely adore!! The issue is that the dog is an English Standard Pointer (a hunting dog by nature). I have had the dog for about a week now, and he and the cat are still at odds. Is it better to get them together slowly, with the cat in a carrier for a few hours a day, like the people in the shelter suggested, or should I just let them at eachother and hope they eventually get along? Keep in mind that the dog doesn't try to bite the cat, he just wants to paw at it, so he's not going to rip the skin off the cat or anything!! :) |
