There is a world of difference between a compulsory religion where an individual is burdened with earning salvation through deeds with no mechanism of forgiveness like islam that is forced on people and Christianity that is 100% optional and the individual can receive forgiveness merely by asking and a mechanism for salvation that is offered not through deeds and is not earned but offered free for the taking even before asking for it and free will includes the freedom to not accept any offering whatsoever.
If you like numbers, spend a little time looking at the odds of the universe being brought into existence on its own by chance and not created by an intelligent designor and creator. Look at the complex and highly intelligent code of DNA and the odds that it was just an act of chance and didn't have a code writer and creator.
Not too long ago, if you held the belief that the universe began at a specific point in time and has not always existed, the scientific world would ridicule you and attempt to disprove your belief with the latest evidence. Today, after science has caught up and learned what they didn't know, if you deny there was a point in time where the universe began (the big bang) you will be ridiculed by the scientific world and they will attempt to disprove your belief that is the same as their belief was not too long ago. To believe the incredible odds that all of the universe and mankind just occurred without the intervention of an intelligent creator and designor is just a denial of the evidence and probability. Scientific discoveries in the universe and in quantum particles do more to prove the existence of God than to disprove. It is getting harder and harder for science to explain away reality with theories. Science and God are not at odds with each other as many people believe. You do not have to choose one and deny the other, this is a common but very untrue assumption. In fact it is the opposite, science will allow you to embrace the belief that God created the universe and everything in it. Science points to God more than it points away from God. The skeptic world wants you to accept a theory that must overcome astronomical odds and probability for it to be true, yet they dismiss the more likely and logical explanation that it is the result of a single intelligent designor and creator. Don't believe a word I say, I am nobody. Take a look at the facts and evidence for yourself, that is the only way it will have any credibility anyway.
