Welcome to Blood Lust: The Kevin Thorn Fan Club profile here on CherryTAP. This will be your elite resource for ECW Extremist and New Breed member Kevin Thorn on CherryTAP. My name is Damian Roy, I AM NOT KEVIN FERTIG, the man who so creatively and eloquently plays the character of Kevin Thorn on WWE television, but I am the director of his official fan club here in Memphis, Tennessee. I will be updating this profile with information about Kevin and his tenure in World Wrestling Entertainment as often as I possibly can. Hope you enjoy your visit to this fan profile. Feedback is encouraged and is always welcome.Kevin Matthew Fertig is an American professional wrestler better known by his ring names, among them being Kevin Thorn, Mordecai, Vengeance and Seven. Fertig is currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment wrestling on the ECW brand as Kevin Thorn.REAL NAME: Kevin Matthew FertigRING NAMES: Seven, Mordecai, Vengeance, Kevin Fertig, Fertig, Kevin ThornHEIGHT: 6'3"WEIGHT: 265 lbsBORN: January 17, 1977, in Memphis, TennesseeTRAINED BY: OVW training schoolPROFESSIONAL DEBUT: 2000CAREERKevin Fertig began his professional wrestling career under the ring name of Seven in Memphis Championship Wrestling (MCW) and some other independent promotions in 2000. He won his first title on July 7, 2001, when he became the MCW Southern Heavyweight Champion.WORLD WRESTLING ENTERTAINMENTIn April 2002, Fertig signed a developmental contract with World Wrestling Entertainment and was assigned to their development territory at Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), where he continued to use the Seven ring name. In OVW, Fertig joined The Disciples of Synn stable, and along with stable-mate Travis Bane (Tyson Tomko), won the OVW Southern Tag Team Championships in March of 2003, but they were forced to vacate the titles a month later when Bane was injured. In late April of 2004, Fertig was called up to the SmackDown! brand with vignettes playing on the show announcing the debut of his new character, Mordecai, a religious Zealot-type character. During numerous television promos, Mordecai claimed he saw nothing but sin everywhere he went, and God had chosen him to rid the world of it. He constantly wore white and had dyed his hair and beard white as a sign of his purity. Mordecai made his in-ring debut for the SmackDown! brand on May 16, 2004, during the Judgment Day pay-per-view, defeating Scotty 2 Hotty. In later appearances on SmackDown!, Mordecai condemned the audience to hell, and often carried a large metal crucifix with him everywhere he went. He was also known to pray before his matches, but the gimmick was dropped from WWE's television storylines in July 2004 and Fertig was reassigned back to OVW for further training.Fertig returned to OVW, wrestling under a mask and using the name Vengeance, before reverting back to his original ring name of Seven. He also continued to use the Mordecai name while working in Memphis Wrestling, where he won the Southern Heavyweight Title in March of 2005.INDEPENDENT CIRCUITOn July 5, 2005, Fertig was released from his WWE contract. He made one more appearance for OVW after his WWE release during OVW's Katrina Benefit show on October 1, 2005. For the rest of 2005 and for the early months of 2006, Fertig wrestled all over the world in independent promotions, using both the Mordecai and Seven monikers.RETURN TO WORLD WRESTLING ENTERTAINMENTIn early 2006, Fertig signed a new contract with WWE and was then assigned to the company's new ECW brand in the summer under a vampire gimmick. He originally appeared on the debut episode of ECW on Sci-Fi on June 13, 2006, making appearances standing outside of the arena, looking into the camera, spitting blood and hissing at the audience. The idea was that Fertig was planting the seeds for the long rumored debut of a "Vampire Faction" with Gangrel and Ariel. Although the angle with Ariel was kept, WWE's plans for Gangrel's return were dropped due to his ongoing weight problems. Fertig then began appearing in vignettes with Ariel, the ECW Tarot Card reader, spitting blood at the camera while she "predicted the future of ECW".Fertig made his in-ring television wrestling debut for ECW on the July 25, 2006, episode of ECW on Sci-Fi, defeating Little Guido Maritato. During his debut, Ariel acted as his valet. The next week on the show, in another vignette, Ariel revealed Fertig's new ECW name to be Kevin Thorn. From that point on, Ariel increased her presence at ringside with Thorn, often taking time out of the match to climb onto the apron or under the bottom rope to kiss Thorn while he continued to beat his opponents. In September 2006, Thorn began a feud with Balls Mahoney, and after weeks of Ariel helping Thorn win his matches, Mahoney brought in original ECW Vixen Francine as an equalizer to counter Ariel. The two teams clashed over the next two weeks until Francine was released by WWE. Over the next several months Thorn accumulated an undefeated streak in ECW which was finally broken when he lost to Tommy Dreamer. In early 2007, Thorn became a member of the New Breed stable and is currently taking part in their feud against the ECW Originals.FINISHING AND SIGNATURE MOVESThe Crucifixion (Crucifix powerbomb)The Dark Kiss (Elevated top rope stunner)Sinner Shot (Shoulder jawbreaker)MANAGERS AND VALETSArielSynnBrother Ernest AngelAndy FarringtonCHAMPIONSHIPS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTSMCW Southern Heavyweight Champion (1 time)Memphis Wrestling Southern Heavyweight Champion (1 time)OVW Southern Tag Team Champion (1 time) with Travis Bane (Tyson Tomko)
