“The Sphere”
Through the woods
Trek do I
Seeking the sphere
That which brings sight
Crickets chirp
Owl cries
Breathing quick
Fear inside
Hasten to the tomb which sphere resides
The entrance, smelling blood inside
Smears on the wall
Sacred symbols rise
Focus the mind
Further forward
Further inside
Winds gust by
Howl then screech
Cloak ripples to the side
Hair falls to face’s side
Skin crawls
Second door
Star design
Key in lock
Turn and face the blight
Crash
Scrape
Door falls
Thunder inside
To the chest
On pedestal it sits
Guardians form the ancient past keep watchful eye
Gazing of aged wisdom
Step to the chest
Heart stops
Breath frozen
Silence roars
Mist and smoke slither
Ruby light seeps in
Glass breaks
Chest opens
Sphere moves
Rises above
Gyrates and bobs
Stops
Sphere spins
Mist rises
Smoke enters the lungs
Dizziness, loss of sight
New vision
Ancients talk to me
“Take my hand”
“Touch the sphere”
Drawn inside
World now distorts
Realize now do I
Who searches for me now?
