Earlier this week, I looked at some notable performances from the NFL Scouting Combine on offense that I thought might be relevant to the Lions. So now, Authentic Devin Street Jersey I shall turn my attention to the defense, where the Lions have more needs.

The most talked about performance from the Combine involved a defensive player, but he isn't likely to be on Detroit's radar, since he plays defensive tackle. Memphis' Dontari Poe not only had more bench press reps than any other player with 44, but he also ran a 4.98 40 yard dash, which was one of the better times for a defensive tackle. He did this at 6'4'' and 346 pounds. That's right. He is a massive man who ran faster than some linebackers. Where Detroit isn't set, however, is cornerback, a position I think the Lions likely may target in the first round. A couple players the Lions may take in the first round are Janoris Jenkins and Dre Kirkpatrick. Both did well, but Jenkins was better. He had the sixth best 40 time for cornerbacks, and his overall workout was quite good. Of course, Jenkins also spent his last season in college at North Alabama, and that's because he was kicked off Florida due in part to marijuana related arrests, and he also Anthony Hitchens Kids Jersey apparently has a few kids already. So, there are character issues. If there weren't, there is likely no way he would be there at 23 for the Lions to take him. However, now there is a chance, if Detroit is willing to take a risk.

Josh Robinson from Central Florida had the fastest 40 time, 4.33, and he was also a top performer in both the broad jump and vertial jump. So, later in the Draft, he could be worth a shot, because clearly he is a top notch athlete.

If the Lions want cowboysnflofficialauthentic.com/authentic-devin-street-jersey.html to consider a linebacker, Mychal Kendricks from California may be a worthwhile player to take if he is there for them in the second round. An inside linebacker, he was one of the top performers, and the top performer, in several events, including the 40 yard dash. Zach Brown, who Mel Kiper Jr. once had the Lions taking him in the first round, was the second fastest. A player who saw his stock plummet, on the other hand, was Vontaze Burfict. He had a rough season, and then he ran a plus five second 40. Now there is talk he could be a fourth or fifth round pick. If that remains the case, he could definitely be worth a flyer for the Lions.

There is a chance the Lions could take a defensive end, although it seems very likely they keep Cliff Avril around for at least this season, but it probably won't be in the first round. Bruce Irvin was far and away the fastest player, his 4.50 40 yard dash was over a tenth of a second faster than anybody else, but he is a future outside linebacker in a 3 4. Whitney Mercilus, on the other hand, was one of the top performers during the season, and also had a solid Combine. The Lions would probably have to take him in the second round, however. I don't think Detroit would take a defensive end before the third round, a place where they once took Avril.

The Combine is over, and now pro days will begin. Detroit will hone in on a handful of players, and in less than two months the Lions will start drafting players. Will some of these players be among these top Combine performers? I bet they take at least one player I named in these two articles. I look forward to seeing if that is the case.
