I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but Hollywood really seems to be grasping for movie ideas. It seems that everything that comes out it now is a remake, based on a t.v. show, or a book, or a comic. Seriously, what happened to writing an actual script? I'm not saying I don't like some of these movies, but really, was there a need to remake Texas Chainsaw Massacer? And of course then there is the fact that they want to remake Evil Dead. You can't do that...that's just sick!
Anyways, I know that it can be neat to see a book or a comic done up on the big screen...but come, give us some new ideas. Rambo was based on a book, Die Hard was based on a book, and so many movies have been based on Stephen King books that it's redic. Of course, when a movie is made out of a book, they usually stray greatly. I was suprised at how close "No Country for Old Men" was.
On that note, stop making so many damn movies out of books. Let people read. I mean come on, I'm not a Harry Potter fan...but if it got kids reading, then why make movies?
I apologize if this is a stupid little rant...but after realizing someone made a live action "Fat Albert" movie, I was just annoyed. I mean really...a bunch of kids let by a fat dude who hang out in a junkyard? Wow.
