I recently took a trip with my 76yr old mother to Wisconsin and Chicago. We visited my 95 and 90 yr old Great aunts. It is the last time she will see them before they are gone. The trip nearly killed me. Not just from sitting in a car for 10 to 12hrs straight either. That was expected and meds were dolled out accordingly. And Mom wouldn't let me drive much....................That is another story.
The traffic in Chicago was unbelievable!!! I have driven in Kansas City many times in regular and rush hour. But the drivers in Chicago really had me on the edge of my seat. I found out it is normal for at least 3 cars to run a red light before traffic can proceed. And the horn honking was instantaneous when the light changed. Even if the 3 cars were still in the middle of the intersection. And the Toll Way!!! I wanted to get out and knock on the window of the idiot behind me and ask him if I teleported the 300 cars stopped in front of me to somewhere else would he stop pushing that damn horn!!!
The house where my Great Grandmother had lived was only 2 miles from the lake. It took 1hr and 15 min to get there and 1/2 a tank of gas. There was a Cubs game in town. I didn't ask if I got extra points if I knocked the jaywalkers back on the curb with out spilling their Big Gulp cups. And it was very tempting to try. Very tempting.....
In the future I will give 2 Chicago's for 1 Kansas City on a Chiefs or Royals game day.
And they can keep their $4.45.9 gal gas too!!!
