Dear Eugene,
Earlier this month, China’s Xinhua news agency reported
the largest single seizure of illegally poached endangered snow leopards since authorities began keeping records in 1949. Unfortunately, this is just the latest hurdle in the race to save one of the world’s rarest and most beautiful great cats from extinction.
Help us convince Congress to save snow leopards. Please donate now and help us run ads to pass the Great Cats and Rare Canids Act -- legislation that supports on-the-ground conservation efforts to save snow leopards and other amazing animals. Poaching, global warming and habitat and prey loss are pushing these great cats closer to extinction every day. In fact,
only an estimated 3,500 to 7,000 snow leopards now remain in the wild.
Unfortunately, far too few in
Washington know that snow leopards are disappearing or what Congress can do help. That’s why we’ve launched an all-out campaign to pass the Great Cats and Rare Canids Act , which includes placing ads in
Congress Daily -- one of the most influential publications on Capitol Hill.
We need to raise $40,000 by
Labor Day to help support these efforts.
A vote is expected on this important legislation soon after Congress returns early next month.
Will you help? Donate now so we can run ads to convince Congress to save snow leopards and help protect other imperiled wildlife. Every day in Tibet, Nepal and elsewhere in the snow leopard’s shrinking Asian habitat, unsung heroes are working to save these elusive cats. They brave harsh, unforgiving conditions to protect snow leopards from poachers’ guns.
These conservationists rarely get the support they need to protect these amazing animals, but the Great Cats and Rare Canids Act would change that by authorizing millions of dollars for vital efforts to protect snow leopards and other imperiled wildlife.
Make sure snow leopards get the help they need. Please donate today to support our efforts to ensure that the Great Cats and Rare Canids Act becomes law.We only have a limited time to make a difference for snow leopards. Congress is expected to take up the Great Cats and Rare Canids Act soon after
Labor Day. Please help us make sure their story is heard on Capitol Hill, so these beautiful cats don’t disappear forever.
Best Regards,
