OG Geno was born and raised in Chicago Illinois until he was 3 months away from his 17th birthday.

His mother then moved to Flint Michigan, which is where he still lives today.

He first got into rappin & songwriting when he was about 13 years old, and that's when he found out that he had a love and a talent to do both of them really well.

His friends and family had no idea that he could rap or write songs because he never shared it with anyone for a long time.

But when he did, all the people that heard him were impressed that he could do it, and do it well.

Although he started rappin and writing songs at age 13, he didn't get into making beats until age 29.
Basically because he never had access to a real studio, So he bought himself a keyboard and the process was then set into motion.

OG Geno says, that in his young teenage years and in his young 20's, he didn't have his own studio, he didn't know anybody that had a studio, and he didn't know anybody that knew anybody that had a studio. So out of the love of the music and sheer neccessity he ended up putting together his own home made studio in the basement of his house.

OG Geno has music in his blood.

His father Creadel "Red" Jones, was an original member of the singing group known as The Chi-Lites.

His mother and father got a divorce when he was about 4 years old, and he hasn't seen his father since then, but he still carries the blood of an legendary artist in his body.

When he went looking for his father in 2005, he found out that his father had died in 1994, and later that year he went on to write a song that he dedicated to his father called "Red Son", which can be heard on his myspace page.

OG Geno is now a self taught songwriter, rap artist, producer and promoter of his own brand of music, which he calls G. Style Records.

He is always quick to point out that, the "G" in G. Style stands for Geno.

OG Geno has now begun to receive compliments and support for his music from people all over the world, since he first started putting his music on the internet in 2005.

He is truly a trend setter and a go getter that's always looking for a new challenge to take on.

With or without a record deal, OG Geno is bound to attract the attention of a lot of people with his original beats, lyrics and rappin skills.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I now introduce to you OG Geno.

You bet your two butt cheeks I am, but at the same time, I'm one of the most honest, dependable, friendly, open minded & non-selfish humans you'll ever come across in your life.

In the words of Eric B. & Rakim, "I Ain't No Joke".

I find my characteristics to be extremly useful in today's world. I'm sure some people will hear my music & "ASSUME" that I'm a negative person, But if those same people would spend some time talking with me, I'm sure they'll see that their "ASSUMPTIONS" of me are all wrong.

Do I get a kick out of proving people wrong?

You bet your two butt cheeks I do.

I know I use a lot of strong language in some of my songs, But as a songwriter I feel it helps add to the authenticity & integrity of the song.

Do you think the characters in movies like Scarface & Hustle & Flow would have had the same powerful impact on screen if they all talked like Ernie & Burt from Sesame Street?

Of course not. So when you hear me using strong lanugage in a song, it's not for shock value, it's for pure, true expression of the statement I'm trying to make.

I accept the fact that some record labels may be turned off by my lyrical content, and I'm cool with that, Because I understand it completly, & I guess that's one of the reasons that I'm doing things on my own, Because I know it's just a song of expression & that a lot of people will like it & accept it for what it is. "A SONG".

I feel that a label & an artist have to match each other 100%, & if the match is not there, then the two should never become one. I really don't make beats and songs for the money anyway.

I do it solely for the love of the music, & I'll do it for free, Like I've been doing for over 20 years.. But that don't mean that I'll give it away for free... LOL

So, Am I A Little Rough Around The Edges?

You bet your two butt cheeks I am, But at the same time, I'm one of the most honest, dependable, friendly, open minded & non-selfish humans you'll ever come across in your life....

Bangin - A poem I wrote

Bangin is a thing a lot of brothers do,

They do it for the red,

They do it for the blue,

They do it for the six,

They do it for the five,

They do it till the day they're no longer alive,

You see a brother like me,

Man I've been bangin for years,

Thru the good,

Thru the bad,

Thru the laughter,

And definitly thru the tears,

But now comes the time that I make a decision,

Will I continue on my gang bang mission?

I'm 50% out, But I'm 50% in,

And it seems like my homies are my only friends,

So do I leave?

Or do I stay?

Until the day I get blowed away?

If I leave my homies, then I'm not real,

But if I stay with my homies, I might get killed,

It's a tough decision I have to make,

Tryna decide which route I should take,

I wanna stay in, because of the love I have,

I wanna get out, because I might get stabbed,

I wanna stay in, cause I'm real as hell,

I wanna get out, before I rot in jail,

I wanna stay in till the day I die,

I wanna get out, and give a new life a try,

See, some of y'all feel me,

But some of y'all don't,

A few of y'all will,

But most of y'all won't,

The life that I have is definitly changing,

All because a brother started gangbangin......

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a poem I wrote about 15 years ago, when I was tryna find myself in this dark world, and now that I have found my inner peace, I solemly swear to never bring harm to another person because of a gang's name.

My heart is NOW free from ALL hatred, and I'm still not a punk.

I'M A MAN....

READ IT & UNDERSTAND IT...

And to all of my brothers and sisters that's still caught up in the cycle of hate,,,,

Free your mind and the rest will follow...

1 LOVE & RESPECT IS ALL I KNOW NOW...

OG Geno,,,

Here Till I'm Gone.....

I was a baby bird when I learned how to fly.

Would I fly low or would I fly high?

Would I fly far or would I stay close, to the other baby birds I flew with the most?

Will I grow strong or will I die weak, like the other baby birds found dead in the street?

Will I die slow or will I die fast?

Will I die first or will I die last?

Will I eat well or will I eat crumbs?

Will I live well or live in the slumbs?

Will the other birds choose me as the leader of the pack, Because I have the strength that the other birds lack?

If they choose me to be the leader of the flock, Will they follow me for more than a block?

If I leave and never come back, When I'm gone who'll pick up the slack?

Who'll be the next bird to take up the lead & guide the flock that I use to feed?

Who'll be the next bird to spread his wings & take his place as the baby bird king?

I was a baby bird when I learned how to fly, Would I fly low or would I fly high?

Would I fly far, or would I stay close, to the other baby birds I flew with the most?
