A woman was out golfing one day when she hit the ball into the woods. She looked for it and found a frog in a trap. The frog told her, "If you release me, I will grant you three wishes." The woman freed the frog, and the frog said, "Thank you, but I failed to mention that there was a condition to your wishes. Whatever you wish for, your husband will get it ten times!" The woman said, "That's okay." For her first wish, she wanted to be the most beautiful woman in the world. The frog warned her, "You do realize that this wish will also make your husband the most handsome man in the world, an Adonis whom women will flock to". The woman replied, "That's okay, because I will be the most beautiful woman and he will have eyes only for me." So, KAZAM-she's the most beautiful woman in the world! For her second wish, she wanted to be the richest woman in the world. The frog said, "That will make your husband the richest man in the world. And he will be ten times richer than you." The woman said, "That's okay, because what's mine is his and what's his is mine." So, KAZAM-she's the richest woman in the world! The frog then inquired about her third wish, and she answered, "I'd like a mild heart attack!"
Moral of the story: Female golfers are clever. Don’t mess with them.
So, are male golfers clever too?
You can tell how clever a golfer is when arranging bets and how he haggles about how many strokes to give, etc., and that is always to his advantage. You can tell how clever he is when he knows how to distract the other golfer—unnecessary sounds, indirect teasing, useless comments, complimenting terrible shots, etc. And you can tell how clever a golfer is when he chooses a good consistent golfer with an overwhelming high handicap as his partner in a team competition. A wise guy? Or simply just clever? You be the judge.
You know, you can tell the person’s real character in golf. It comes out naturally. You will know how one reacts to pressure, how one reacts to real competition, and how one reacts to teamwork.
When making a bad shot, you can tell by the way he reacts, if he is hot headed, or if he is ‘cool’. He may throw his club, he may swear, he may blame his caddy, or, he simply keeps quiet and keeps his emotions to himself.
You can tell how a person can get so serious and he means business when he plays, or maybe he is only in it for fun.
You can tell if a person is strict, when it comes to golf rules, like having to mark a ball on the fairway before raising it and dropping for relief, or sticking to the rule on who has the honor to tee off first. You can find out if a person is so uptight, and cannot be bent.
You can tell if a person is confident, always thinking positive, never losing hope, trying his best up to the end. As they say, “it’s not over till it’s over.”
You can tell how a person analyzes, by taking his time in figuring out how to go about the shot, or in putting, looking at the line at all angles, going around the hole, checking and double checking--the speed, the pressure, the line, even if the ball is just one foot away from the hole.
Golf isn’t just hitting the ball as far as you can. You’re not in golf to prove that you’re such a strong macho guy. Golf is a mental game. It is intense—strategies, planning, keeping your enemy close, watching his moves and taking notice of his mistakes.
Golf is a game of concentration--intense play, from the first tee shot, up to the last putt on the 18th green.
