One of the dilemnas of "social networking" is the whole High School Popularity Contest aspect. So, as a user I see an avatar featuring a major hottie and click only to find out that there's either a 20-y-o dork pretending to be a chick, or a female I might not be in as much of a hurry to befriend (yes, I AM shallow).
I get (and use) salute photos, but I still have to burn the bandwidth and time to see that image and make a decision.
Bottom line: Which do you prefer, "Salute"-style avatars, or the "PhotoTrap"? |
