You told me you loved me
More than more than life itself
You assured me you would be there for me
No matter what the cost
You told me you would hold me close
To keep me safe from harm

So tell me
Was it all a lie
Did you mean the words you said
Why should I believe it’s truth you spoke
Why shouldn’t I just walk away instead?

Was it all a lie?

I once thought you were all I needed
To fill the void inside
I once had hope we would be ok
We’d make everything work out right
But all the hope has drained away 
I finally see the light.

Now I know
It was all just lies
You never meant those words you said
I don’t believe it’s truth now
So I am walking…away from you…again.
