Kimy La bella Italiana's blog: "AEROPOSTALE"

OK so I do this not entirely with anger and thru firey red eyes but also with the mind set of understanding that some people suffer from ignorance. A few weeks ago a very good friend of mine, who happens to be the assistant manager of AEROPOSTALE, told me that her store was looking for a new head of purchasing and merchandising and told me to apply. So I did. I had my interview and it went well, infact the manager Allison and I were joking by the end of it, good sign right?????? WRONG, today I received the phone call from Allison and it didn't go the way I was expecting, instead of being told I had the job and I needed to come in and fill out my tax papers, I was told the position had been filled. I kept my cool in an never ending quest to better my interview skills I asked why I had been over-looked for the position. What she said to me thru me for a loop and hurt, she said to me that "I didn't meet the physical outward appearance that AERO wanted for their store"... In other words she called me fat! OK MS. LADY I MEAN ITS NOT LIKE HALF MY WARDROBE ISN'T FROM YOUR STORE IN THE FIRST PLACE! Needless to say I lost it I mean I have spent the last 2 1/2 years trying to get myself image up and get back feeling comfortable with myself and in an instant that was all taken from me. I will never understand how people can be so cruel, so uncaring, so ignorant that they don't see the error in doing things like this... I realize that I will forever be that thick chick BUT that doesn't take away from me as a human being nor does it detract from my ability to be employed and preform work related activities. I just would really like to know where she feels she gets the right to say such things with no give a shit paid the what an impact such things can have on a person.

So at this point I guess my ranting at the pure ugliness of the situation will be put to an end, and instead I shall ask that all my friends do me and others put thru any type of discrimination this service and participate in a lil thing I like to call a boycott of the afore mentioned AEROPOSTALE.

And please everyone remember that discrimination in any way shape of form hurts!
