Heart Of Stone
here i sit all alone;
wondering why oh why must i go on;
with tears running down my cheeks;
for all the pain in my heart;
which has been there for many weeks;
feels like its tearing me apart
but i know life will go on; as i know i must too;
with each heartache a piece of me dies
never to return
as the heart heals anew;the cracks remain
my heart will never be the same
and before everything is through
i say what else am i to do
because my heart of gold;
will soon turn to stone; never to love again
afraid of letting go;
going back to where its been;
for fear that one more crack in this heart of stone
will cause it to never mend
