A poem by Esor
Mom always said
Mom always said
There are bad bad men
Mom always said
Good man one bad man ten
Mom always said
Watch your back keep your head
Mom always said
If you don't you'll wind up dead
I heard what Mom always said
For I have met some bad bad men
I heard what Mom always said
Bad out numbers good at least by ten
I heard what Mom always said
I guess I did cause I'm not dead
But Mom never said she never revealed
The man so smart my heart he would steal
He possessed the traits of one so humble
But deep down man he was trouble
Honor and trust, dignity and respect
The art of lying that's the subject
You don't trust me he often would say
Opposite being true, truth slipped away
Thoughts of being second best danced in his head
Couldn't console this no matter what I said
The end closed in a ghastly affair
The dog means more he said with a stare
The dog means more I answered him back
Love and compassion traits you lack
My dog was dying what was I to do
My dog was dying you made it all about you
It took tear filled eyes and a heart so broken
To say all the words left unspoken
I see the truth with pen in hand
I write this poem to take a stand
Mom was right about bad bad men
I will watch my heart before loving again
Mom was right I'll scream it out
Talking about you I have no doubt
So I'll move on my heart intact
Oh so sad yours is cracked
A fate so fitting for a man so wise
To think "us" ending would be my demise
So good bye to you bye bye farewell
I am so done with this story I do tell
Moving on to find one good man
Wade through ten for I have a plan
With God's help I will find
A love so strong our hearts will bind
Together we'll go heart and hand
Together our love will make a stand
I will love him and he love me
Till death do us part wait and see
I hope you are happy
With your thoughts so crappy
Without the ability to love and trust
Destination alone is always a must
Yet our breakup our demise
Oh what a blessing in disguise
I found the truth for now I know
What Mom said is always so
