I retired from the US Army June 2012 with a combined service of 30 years. I initially served 12 1/2 years active duty, before family medical issues required me to set my career aside. A few years later, I was able to continue in the National Guard, and retired in 2003. In 2005, I received orders to go to Iraq and was then able to finish my active duty career (20 years active,30 years total).

I am a Southern Baptist pastor, currently pastoring a dual-language congregation (Korean and English - quite a challenge as I only know a few Korean words). My wife and I have 4 biological children ages 24 to 34 and 1 child we will finish the adoption papers on when she is 16 (long story with the courts, she is 14 now), and 1 girl who adopted us as her surrogate parents and grandparents to her son.

I have traveled much of the world - Europe (Italy, Germany, England, Northern Ireland, Ireland, France, Scotland, Belgium, Greece, Turkey and the Netherlands -- was in Berlin in 1981 and again in 1990 right after the Wall came down), Asia (South Korea, Japan and Guam), and Middle East (Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, and Afghanistan).

Hoping to land a teaching job for this fall, teaching at one of the local high schools.
