Hello Fubarites. I am Mikel, I am 60 and I am an unwillingly single widower. I lost the love of my life, my wife of 8 years and the joy of my life, my 7 year old daughter to a drunk driver. The hole in my soul is unfathomable. No bridge can span the gap, no ladder can scale the walls I have built around myself, no beacon can breach the hoary mists of loneliness that consumes the incorporeal moat that seperates me from the outer fringe. Only through the nooks and crannies, the chinks that have dented my armor from the relentless onslought of good intentions and a ceaseless battery of philisophical cliches have afforded me the curious awareness that life goes on around me; but, save for the beating heart and unhalting breath, does not revell within me. Granted, the automaton that carries on with the necessities of social interaction, the work of sustaining an existence among the living souls and the other dazed and blinking automatons that play their parts in this chaotic and never ending matinee, performs its own part with efficient and rehearsed precision. It's latest endeavor? To find validation. There is more... there is always more... and for now... that is my inconsolable curse. To not end!
