I've been married twice, divorced and had one serious relationship as meaningful as marriage, raised three kids, built a couple of successful businesses, and invested 19 yrs in the service of our country and seen a lot of change in the world. I'm not the smartest guy on the planet, but math, mechanics, music and physics are all things I can get my head around. What continues to illude me is the human equation. In both my marriages and every serious relationship I've been in, I've approached with the conviction of Biblical sanctity and beliefs and in every case that I've fallen in love (I can still count on one hand), I still am "In-Love" with them all. Being in-love is not a measure of quantity or quality. It simply is or is not. What I now realize that contributes the most to my failure in relationships is the communication factor, the fear factor and the intelligence quotion. So, aside from ego, masks and childish means of protection or deception contributing to adult game playing, I believe it's a lot wiser to approach the issue with caution, intellect and gut feelings all in tact operating with moral and ethically agreed boundries forming a sound checks and ballance system. Your actions need to be in harmony with your words, if not, someones going to get hurt in some way, regardless of intentions. Im looking to have fun and enjoy happiness in my life and I wish to NOT hurt anyone in anyway in that pursuit. This time around, I'm not looking for love, that potential at this point in my life seems to be a fairy tale.
