D, I think it is great you are learning to play the drums, and 27 is not"OLD", trust me..grin. You have plenty of time to learn to play drums and enjoy playing them in your lifetime. I am 55 years old and am on the verge of beginning a new musical career myself, or rather restarting my musical career I set aside in 2000.
