INDIE-FOLK SONGWRITER, STEPHEN LAYCOCKSTEPHEN LAYCOCK is an Independent songwriter who writes and performs original alternative indie-folk music drawing heavily from early blues-ballard artists of the 70's with similarities to Paul Simon, David Gray (UK), Jason Mraz, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Willie Nelson, and Norah Jones.Based out of Los Angeles, California, Stephen has been writing and performing since 2002, playing coffee shops, auditoriums, and nightclubs throughout the United States and Europe. Stephen began Tripod (record label) during 2005 in Hollywood, California while attending the world renowned Musician's Institute. He is currently working on the completion of his debut album, "Dropped In" set for release September of 2007.The album title comes from a sky diving experience at 13,500 feet above the western desert. "This act of faith reminds me of when we are born, that we are dropped into our world as it is at that very moment... that it is up to each of us do what we can with where we land in life." The song named, "Little Liza Jane," introduces the character "Justin Willee Brown." Song development started in May of 2002 and part of the transition from an interior design career of eighteen years. "I have always played and written songs from the age of fifteen and yearned to have the opportunity to create a music project." "I have created almost everything else that I could have wanted and music just seems to be my next logical step." Words and Music by Stephen Laycock© 2007 Stephen Laycock - All Rights Reserved
