I like to think of myself as an intelligent hedonist. I believe pleasure and happiness are the goals in life, and people need to sieze the moment so they can begin to experience life. At the same time, I cannot deny that 3/4ths of the world lives in poverty while others prosper on their suffering. I choose my friends because of the infinate pleaures of humanity and love they bring to me, but I also presuppose the infinate suffering I am willing to go through for them. I believe love is not just a feeling but a state of being and that in learning to accept and love others, you learn to love yourself. Love is a dialectical relationship where you want for another everything you would want for yourself, and vice-versa, you want for yourself what you would want for another. It is being able to laugh at yourself, love yourself, and accept you are wrong. Sometimes everyone is wrong, and it is only if you are open to realizing how wrong you are can you be open to seeing new possabilities of being.
