Having read like a guzillion profiles it seems there's a common theme to the vast majority of those belonging to the ladies. In fact, it makes me think there's some sort of template you girls must get when you first join to cut and paste into your profiles warning off all the dirty letches and filthy pervs .. lol .. probably wouldn't be such a bad idea given some of the stuff that goes on I suppose!! Anyway, for the record:

I don't want naked photos of you or to send you any of me, and I'm not after any sort of cybersex nonsense either.

I've no wish to refer to you as a 5th Century marauding, bloodthirsty warrior (HUN) or a cutsie little talking porker (BABE) or a communally regurgitated mass of bee vomit (HONEY/HUNNI/HUNNY).. or anything else along those lines for that matter. You might be a sweetie and gorgeous and all the rest of it .. good for you, seriously .. but I only do that sort of thing with my good friends for a laugh .. if I do ever accidentally refer to anyone as any of the above then please feel free to stab my virtual eye out with your virtual stiletto, bitchslap me with your flip flop or torture me in some other terribly agonising virtual way .. ok sugatitz ;)

I rate you and/or become a fan because you're pretty, beautiful and/or I like your Profile and what you have to say about life, the world and stuff in general. I'm more interested in the person than superficial things such as good looks, big boobs and all the rest of it. If anything, I notice what I consider to be gorgeous eyes rather than what surrounds them and what's below them, before anything else.

Having said that, I do appreciate beauty just like anybody else, but respectfully so. I'm 41 years old and in truth, given what I've read on most profiles, I end up feeling a little uncomfortable whenever I LIKE or RATE anyone under 30!! That probably sounds ridiculous but, given the way things seem to be on here, it's true nevertheless. Am I just another dirty (nearly) old man? No I'm not .. it's up to you whether you want to take my word for it or not of course .. I won't be losing any sleep over it though .. at my age I need as much as I can get ;)

People who come across as honest, witty, compassionate, intelligent and who don't take themselves too seriously are far more appealing to me than those who are soooooooo very obviously insecure, shallow, self obsessed, needy and greedy.

I'm certainly not being snobby or elitist, after all I'm a complete nobody anyway, but I'll only ask to be friends with someone who genuinely fascinates or interests me for whatever reason. If I only went on looks and such I'd basically be asking more or less everyone I've come across!! I'll never refuse a request though .. who am I to do such a thing. If you're kind enough to take an interest of any sort and want to be friends, then thank you :) That being said though, now that I've been back here for a while, if you do 'befriend' me but have no intention of ever interacting then please don't be upset when I delete you .. sorry!!

I'll talk to anyone!! I'm a pretty quiet, shy sort of person and won't go out of my way to make conversation with someone I don't know, but that doesn't mean I won't talk if someone wants to chat with me. If you do, then I promise you won't be ignored, and if I'm showing as online but don't reply then it's because I'm not actually here, though I will acknowledge you the next time I am in some way.

I'm just here to look around and maybe make a few friends if I'm lucky. I work away from home so spend the vast majority of time alone .. this place is a welcome distraction from all that :)

So with all that in mind, new or old friend, understand this: I am not now, nor will I ever be IN love with you, so please don't mistake what will certainly be genuine affection for anything other than the token of friendship that it is.

Other 'STUFF'

I help to build oil and gas platforms and other such stuff, and usually work out in the middle of the ocean or in some godforsaken hellhole that most people have never heard of, including me!! Makes for interesting days though .. sometimes. My Job has taken me around Europe, to Africa, South America and Asia so far .. goodness knows where I'll end up next!!

RANDOM SMILEY STUFF - I'm the happiest person you'll never meet .. I love my converse trainers and red/auburn coloured hair (not mine like the trainers thing .. in general I mean .. my hair's brown(ish) where it isn't grey) .. I like music of all kinds, including classical and movie soundtracks (get over it!!) .. I'll listen to a song on repeat for hours on end .. singing constantly .. Australians, THE most laid back and properly cool bunch of Awesomesaucies on the entire planet .. cool Photography of all kinds .. the throat burning glory of JD, Gentleman Jack, Glenfiddich or Jameson's (straight, no sacrilegious ice) .. Dexter, The Walking Dead, Touch and True Blood (that is all!!) .. freckles, oh my, nuff said...

...gud grama .. Crisp (Potato Chip) sandwiches .. animated movies (Pixar especially) and romantic chick flicks (yes you read right!!) as well as Tarantino, Guy Richie and all that .. Erotica (classy photography ie X-ART (oh man!!)) .. much to the disbelief of my friends for some reason (which amuses me no end) the sight of a female with any mixture of spectacles, tattoo(s) and unusually coloured hair seems to have some sort of power over me that I simply cannot control (I'm happy to say) .. actually reading right through Profiles and Blogs (Poetry especially) .. writing, anything from poems to the absolute nonsense that sometimes just whirls around in the endless 1200 spin cycle that is my mind .. Scribbling (on Post-its mainly) .. making rubbishy tat for people in the hope of raising a smile. BUT, I utterly adore most of all in this world, the simple things in life .. the beach, the ocean, the countryside, warm summer rain, stars on a clear night, sunset, you know that sort of thing, which most would find completely dorky and boring, but that's me, I can't get enough of it all. My friends call me Nature Boy .. have no idea why!!

I'm a dreamer .. always have been, always will be!!
