I'm just a normal guy. I've had an interesting life, and I've done a number of interesting things (or at least things that I find interesting.

I prefer substance over flash. I go more for things that will last than I do current trends. I think there is too much hatred and meanness in the world - life is much better when it is built upon Love. I am not a "playa", although I find many things to like in many people. My first impulse is not to get a girl into bed, but to understand a girl's mind. I find intellect and substantive character to be attractive qualities.

What this means is that I generally tend to be less impressed by the pictures of girls in various stages of undressed (ok, I do look, I am still a man) than I am by a glimpse into her mind. If you have something interesting to say in your profile, I'll find that just as interesting as the photo of a girl in her lingerie. I don't like to rate a girl just because she's hot. (Of course, it doesn't hurt, either.... LOL).

It should also be said that I've worked in IT for close to 20 years now (yes, do the math - I'm 40 years old, but I first started in our IT department as a student worker, when I was 21), going back before the Internet became the societal institution that it now is. I've seen how relationships work on the Internet. Quite simply, they don't. The Internet can be a great tool for meeting people, but you can't really get much farther than that. Those that try expose themselves to a host of hazards, both emotional and, at least potentially, physical.

I would think that these hazards are well known to folks, yet I have seen people in Fubar who seem to take their online relationships seriously. I wish them the best, but the phrase "caveat emptor" applies here. Let the buyer beware, because you may not see everything that underlies the other side of the chat room.
