Alright so its once again time for a new year. And as we all know we have hopes to the future and plans to set it right. I am going to outline some of the things that I am looking forward to and I hope to accomplish this year.
What I'm looking forward to:
A) Trip to Nashville, TN.
Me and Ed last year planned on going to see our beloved Blue Jackets play the Nashville Predators. So, we got the plan in motion and were trying to finalize the logistics. When lo and behold, Ed's mom got us plane tickets and hotel as a Christmas present. So, now we can save our money for some primo seats, booze, and some shopping.
Reasons why I'm looking forward to it:
1) I get to fly in a plane. Its been a long time. Last time I flew in a plane was my trip to Congressional Student Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. in 2002.
2) Never been to Nashville. Looks like a nice and clean city.
3) I get to see Genesco Headquarters. It is the parent company of the company I work for. Plus, they have a J&M factory store right there at Genesco Park. So, I will get to meet the people that work at that store.
B) Trip to Indianapolis, IN.
This city I have been to on several occasions because of business purposes. Now, this time around its for pleasure. Me, Mike and Ed are going there to see the Pacers vs. the Suns. Mike is a big Suns fan and Ed pulls for the Pacers. Me, I'm not a hugh fan of basketball, but live sports are always exciting.
Reasons why I'm looking forward to it:
1) Get to go back to Indy! Indy is a very nice and clean city. Yes, there are some bums that hang around. But, you get that in almost every major city.
2) I'll actually get to party there. Indy has a very nice town down filled with all sorts of clubs and restaurants. So, it will be nice to actually go to have fun. (Even though business trips are fun to me. )
C) Trip to Vegas
It might be shaky, but the family is taking a trip to Las Vegas. Its a city I've always wanted to go to (thanks to all those Gangster movies I watched as a kid)
Reasons why I'm looking forward to it:
1) Gambling! I'll be spending some time at the black jack table for sure. Why? Cause, I'm freaking awesome at Black jack!
2) Partying! Nuff said there. Plus, my bro will be there. So it will be a hell of a time.
The beauty of all this, is it all takes place the first part of this year. So only the Creator above knows what holds for the second half.
Now lets move on to my resolutions for this year. Now...I'm not starting any of these until Jan. 9th. Why? The National Championship game will be over by then. And it will give me time to focus on other things....I suppose. It could be just procrastination.
1) Loose Weight
I've done it before when I was trying to get into the Navy (and since that fell through) I'm going to do it again. At my lowest weight point I was 216 lbs. And I have to say, I looked pretty damn good. So, I want to loose some weight. I did it with all the help from Atkins. It works! So, thus I will be back on that band wagon again.
2) Get as much college done and out of the way as possible.
I want to get my degree and move on. Becoming a fancy big city lawyer takes time
3) Pay off bills.
Yep, I've got debt (but so does everybody). My goal is to have it all payed off my 2Q of FY 08 (or sometime around April or June of this year)
4) Own a gun!
Why? Its my right as an American to own a gun. See:
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
Pretty easy to understand.
5) Get a conceal and carry permit.
So, I can have my hand gun on me whenever necessary. Or at least have it in my car. I'll be damn if the Queen of England is just going to come up here and act like she owns the place!
So that is my 2007. Its off to a pretty damn good start. Michigan lost to USC. LSU beat ND (Suck it Brady Quinn). And the Buckeyes will bring home another National title to Cbus. So until next time folks, I hope your 2007 will bring you lots of luck!
