I have no doubt that Ft. McHenry played out as in this narrative. Men were men then and had no need to apologize to anyone - for anything unless they wished to. But those who died holding the flagpole up so to speak, were not the last nor were the Marines on Iwo Jima. It is YOU and ME who continue to hold the flag up and say this represents America! I know of no one who has “escaped” America to flee to Cuba, Red China, Ethiopia, North Korea or any other hell hole. America. She changes. But change is planned for. Not thrown down as a law by some di stat or on high. Long may she live! Happy July 4th!
