Disabled USMC veteran surviving PTSD coupled with TBI. Been married once for 16 years, have 3 adult children and 7 grand children. That marriage did not work out for the long haul. Although 16 yrs is a pretty long haul these days. Still friends and communicate on a regular basis. After leaving my first marriage, I was reunited with my "girl next door" from many years ago. After 25 years I finally had the nerve to tell her I had a crush on her. Lucky me! She had one on me as well. So.... We got together once I finally learned in for a kiss and spent the last 6 years together. Apparently I wasn't making her happy. Or at least she told me she wasn't happy. So we decided to split up and seek happiness as individuals rather than a partnership.
I'm single again. After only 2 relationships in 25 years. I have no idea what to do with myself. I wouldn't know how to approach a woman and communicate with her if my life depended upon it. So if I make a comment on here that offends or seems a bit off the wall! It's cuz I'm stupid and an idiot much of the time.
I have very few enemies in life and even fewer true to the end best friends. I've had my share of those who have called me or I have called friend. Few very few have lasted the test of time.
I have had great accomplishments in my life, both professional and personal. I have had great disappointing failure and tragedy as well. I have traveled and seen American cities from coast to coast, border to border. I have been a soldier and a poet, I am equally good at both. I have had near death experiences and I have witnessed the births of each of my children. I live life each day as it were my last.
I have been told I smile too much and I laugh as much as possible, even at myself sometimes. I was taught by the Marine Corps how to be a proper gentleman, I was taught by my mother how to be a gentle man. I think most prefer the latter. I don't tell lies when the truth fits better but, have told some to protect my own or others feelings. It is not a practice I encourage or make habit of. I don't judge others on their decisions, beliefs, behaviors or actions unless they directly affect me or my life. I try to always give more than I receive and lend a helping hand to other whenever I see a need.
And I believe that we have been visited before by aliens from outer space!
