I'm Puerto Rican and Cuban.Poetic Thinker. Kaleidoscopic. Prysmatic. Octopus Heart.I am... an Octopus Heart-- a term that I coined for myself through certain past experiences. If you really want to know, ask me; I'd be interested in telling the story. Essentially, though, what that means is thatI grasp life with my inner tentacles, breathing everything in in a kaleidoscopic, sensitive, passionate existence, groping all the world's beauty through my mind, soul, and senses. To be an Octopus Heart is to be in love with life, to cling on for better or worse, to be enraptured with possibilities and opportunities. To be an Octopus Heart is to not get stuck in all the grey, but to explore all the colors and sounds and flavors of the world, and of your existence. An Octopus Heart is a brave soul that chooses to let herself (or himself) feel and be felt passionately in light of fears that can overwhelm and disempower a person's being. An Octopus Heart chooses to be more human than most by allowing herself to be free in both love and pain. She will never anchor herself in the security of mediocrity for fear of what she could lose and so she lives a prysmatic existence of saturated colors, tastes, sounds, smells, feelings, and thoughts. She clings and gropes and reaches out with her invisible tentacles, exploring all aspects of herself, always learning, inhaling new thoughts and perspectives, and finding new ways to be creative and empower herself. An Octopus Heart is like a cross between a Renaissance (Wo)Man and a Romantic. She is the wind of all life, sailing to all the undiscovered corners, inhabiting all the deep crevices of the core of life. She is awake. She "lives deliberately," as Thoreau advises. An Octopus Heart knows that there is more to lose if you stay in a state of grey, and she embraces the vulnerabilities inside that will inevitably make her stronger, and more beautifully human. Ultimately, an Octopus Heart is Passion...And this is both my nature and my spirituality.You could call me a crazy lover, audiophile, visual artist, adrenaline-freak, and food fanatic. Give me alternative music, indie rock, Elliot Smith, Cat Power, Frou Frou, chicken alfredo, honey mustard subs, salsa, pad thai, any kind of Italian or Mexican, a skydive, a surfing lesson, step aerobics, some belly-dancing classes, cool 80's music, philosophical discourse, Middle Eastern songs, a paintbrush and canvas, a cool gym, good books, a beautiful landscape, a badminton challenge, ping-pong, a wildlife reserve, a tiger, soccer, a frisbee session, trees to climb, a cardio workout, a dog as my companion, a romantic comedian guy, fantastic smells, adventure, a camera, a trip around the world, a photojournalism career, knitting supplies, lots of love, new languages, animals, and a sea of cultural indulgences from around the globe, all mixed up in an abyss of color, and I'll be "perfectly" happy.
