Warning: I'm really not interested in getting to know anyone on this site unless (and only in a special case) they live in my area and we can somehow benefit from knowing each other in THE REAL WORLD. Other than that, I'm not interested in getting to know anyone on here and I don't have time for mindless internet flirting. (*This means you Ann)"Take a deep look into that soul you put on every day; one patchwork pant leg at a time; and tell me where you're going to stand at the end. On the side of progress or opress?"--yeah, that was me who said that; and no you can't use it.

Idols
Ghandi, Gauguin, Martin Luther, Martin Luther King, Camile Paglia, Pagliacci, Bob Barker, Barbarella, etc. All those that "rose above the mess". (see below) Met Ingrid Newkirk on this mortal coil. I'll meet the rest later.
Currently I find myself obsessed with Otto Dix.
"Noted for his ruthless depictions of Weimar society and of the brutality of war, he is one of the most important artists of the Neue Sachlichkeit (New Objectivity)." -- But what matters about Otto Dix to me is that he illustrates the dividends paid back when a government decides to invest in War. Amputees, and broken societies. When war is the solution everybody loses.
"i was thrown before the court of canes
tossed my soul to the furnace flames
where all my heros had been slain, exiled, or put in prison
because they rose above the mess
and because their power posed a threat
and because they spoke of something else
when everybody else didn't"
