Well, the popular Yankees Franchis originated in 1901 as the Baltimore Orioles. In 1903, it moved to Manhattan Island because of the AL president Ban Johnson who wanted at least one team in New York City. Then, they were named as Highlanders for the popular elevated ground on which their own stadium was built. This was a good stadium; though the franchise struggled in its new home. Then they moved to Polo Grounds in 1913. This stadium was also shared by some other teams of the National League like New York Giants and San Francisco Giants. With all their diligent efforts, Yankees struggled until 1920; when they went on to purchase the contract of Babe Ruth from another popular club Boston Red Sox. With his tremendous talent Ruth went on to give some incredible results like 54 home runs during his very first year in New York. This was a record score which he scored and it was more than any other major league team. In 1921, he led the Yankees to their very first pennant. He ended the season with remarkable, .378 batting average, 117 runs including 59 home runs. This season remains one of the very best seasons of any hitter in the history of major league. In 1923, this club moved to Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. With this initiative born the very first dynasty of Yankee. Then the Yankees went on to win four more pennants. Then they also won three World Series during the 1920s. By the time their popularity grew so that in 1927, they were acclaimed as the most powerful team in the history of baseball. From 1965 to 1975, they couldn't win a pennant. Then in 1977, they won World Series in fifteen years with a tremendous lineup starring catcher Thurman, Reggie Jackson, and Graig Nettles. In 1995, they hired a veteran manager Joe Torre. In 1996, they ended their 17-season championship drought as they went on to win the World Series over the mighty Atlanta Braves. In 2000, they experienced a late-season slump. 2006 Season Preview: In 2004, the Yankees were supposed to wrap up the season but then stormed the Boston Red Sox and created a most dramatic comeback history. Boston Red Sox went on to beat them with four games on the platter and won their first World Series since 1918. They performed quite well in 2005 MLB season. This year they are ready to make a good comeback. They finished their last season with a .586 win average. They also tied with their arch rival the Boston Red Sox who were sitting at the top of the popular American League East. Their fans must be hoping to see some good developments. Well their star studded line up is truly unbeatable which is comprised of Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Hideki Matsui, Jason, Giambi, and Gary Sheffield. Once again they will start off the things with Joe Torre as head coach. Joe has led the New York Yankees to the great World Series titles in 1996, 1998, 1999 and then in 2000. He was also selected as the American League Manager of the year in 1996. The New York Yankees have lot to feel proud as they already won eight American League East division titles. They have set a club record with four million in regular season attendance their very own Yankee Stadium. This time the number will increase so get your tickets from your on-line ticket vendor before it’s too late! So, hurry up, get your tickets now!

NEW YORK YANKEES

A Baseball Moment On this day in 1920, the New York Yankees purchased Babe Ruth from the Red Sox for $125,000. The Sultan of Swat became a Yankee! 2003 World Series (4-2): New York Yankees defeated Florida Marlins 2000 World Series (4-1): New York Yankees defeated New York Mets 1999 World Series (4-0): New York Yankees defeated Atlanta Braves 1998 World Series (4-0): New York Yankees defeated San Diego Padres 1996 World Series (4-2): New York Yankees defeated Atlanta Braves 1978 World Series (4-2): New York Yankees defeated Los Angeles Dodgers 1977 World Series (4-2): New York Yankees defeated Los Angeles Dodgers 1962 World Series (4-3): New York Yankees defeated San Francisco Giants 1961 World Series (4-1): New York Yankees defeated Cincinnati Reds 1958 World Series (4-3): New York Yankees defeated Milwaukee Braves 1956 World Series (4-3): New York Yankees defeated Brooklyn Dodgers 1953 World Series (4-2): New York Yankees defeated Brooklyn Dodgers 1952 World Series (4-3): New York Yankees defeated Brooklyn Dodgers 1951 World Series (4-2): New York Yankees defeated New York Giants 1950 World Series (4-0): New York Yankees defeated Philadelphia Phillies 1949 World Series (4-1): New York Yankees defeated Brooklyn Dodgers 1947 World Series (4-3): New York Yankees defeated Brooklyn Dodgers 1943 World Series (4-1): New York Yankees defeated St. Louis Cardinals 1941 World Series (4-1): New York Yankees defeated Brooklyn Dodgers 1939 World Series (4-0): New York Yankees defeated Cincinnati Reds 1938 World Series (4-0): New York Yankees defeated Chicago Cubs 1937 World Series (4-1): New York Yankees defeated New York Giants 1936 World Series (4-2): New York Yankees defeated New York Giants 1932 World Series (4-0): New York Yankees defeated Chicago Cubs 1928 World Series (4-0): New York Yankees defeated St. Louis Cardinals 1927 World Series (4-0): New York Yankees defeated Pittsburgh Pirates 1923 World Series (4-2): New York Yankees defeated New York Giants and... 2004 World Series (4-0): Boston Red Sox defeated St. Louis Cardinals 1918 World Series (4-2): Boston Red Sox defeated Chicago Cubs 1916 World Series (4-1): Boston Red Sox defeated Brooklyn Robins 1915 World Series (4-1): Boston Red Sox defeated Philadelphia Phillies 1912 World Series (4-3-1): Boston Red Sox defeated New York Giants That win in 2004 proves, it wasn't no curse, it was just bad baseball! Update: A interesting side note to this is that the last two times that the Red Sox won the World Series, Hockey's Stanley Cup playoffs were cancelled. The 1918-19 Stanley Cup playoffs were cancelled because the Spanish flu pandemic raging at the time had incapacitated members of both teams, and the 2004-05 Stanley Cup playoffs were cancelled with the entire 2004-05 season, resulting from a labor dispute between the NHL owners and the NHLPA. (Thanks to Chrys at Pettifog for the tip) 2005 was a great funny Year in Sports!

Thanks be to Soldiers

These are the best The cream of the crop They keep on marching When we would give up Holding their heads And their morals high With honor they bravely Aim for the skies Such courage, amazing And love for their country They serve to protect Our vast wealth of luxeries Thank you, oh thank you For all that you do We all live so freely Thanks be to you! So, what are you thankful for? Make sure those whom you thank know how you feel.

An American's Prayer

Dear Lord, As the sun sets on another day, Glowing softly in the west, Please set a special place aside for our wonderful country's best. For the selfless men and women who knowingly give their all... Who stand guard 'round our banner...and shall never let it fall. They leave behind both spouse and child to protect and preserve our land, They leave behind both hearth and home in service great and grand. They endure heartache and hardship for an occasional word from home, They endure sharp criticisms, and they often feel alone. But Lord, please touch their souls tonight, somehow let them know we care, That we're standing right behind them, even when they're "Over There". And Lord if they're wet and cold in the darkness of a wild and rolling sea, Or sweltering in the desert sands, and waiting patiently... If they're soaring through the silver clouds, or standing guard out in the rain, If they're laughing, living, loving...or in quiet, heartfelt pain. Please, Lord tonight embrace them, Soldiers, Sailors one and all, For they dearly love their country, and they daily give their all For the young airman away from home, for the first time in his life, And the officer far away, from his children and his wife. To the women dressed in olive drab instead of skirts or jeans, Because when you say "Patriot"...they can tell you what it means. And Lord, if before this night is through, Heaven's Gate should open wide, And a soldier, airman, sailor or marine should step inside, If he straightens to attention with a clicking of his boot, And proudly states his presence with a textbook sharp salute, Embrace him, Lord...and love him...in Your great and perfect way For he was one of the best, dear Lord...the Pride of the USA.

thankful

Thankful The America we witness today has seen much sacrifice This sacrifice for many, meant a total giving of life for liberty Do all truly realize what the human cost of freedom is All citizens should understand what has kept us whole Should it not be the duty of each American to know this To become familiar with the reasons of why we exist today The notion that "that’s the way things are" is ludicrous When a firm explanation is so easily understood We’ve survived because of faith, determination, and great sacrifice The backbone of this country is the strength of its good citizens Each true American is worth more than all the gold found in history Selfishness does not rule their home, nor does it drive their thought And don’t just look at our military as a magnificent force Rather look at each member of our soldiered family with pride "Ready, willing, and able" have been the finest of each generation Whether in Vietnam, Afghanistan, or any other place of danger Whenever an American military presence moves into action Behold the continuation of an outstanding tradition Formed through freedom, it bravely faces all adversaries And the flag under which it stands will always fly in freedom We are and always will be one nation under God He is the strength we have turned to time and time again If we did not have Him, we would have perished long ago God Bless America is more than a song, it is our national prayer Finally, I wish each fine American a thankful Thanksgiving Day May you truly realize what we are, and pray to Almighty God for continuation Be ever thankful for our soldiers, and give them the total support they need And please pray for all American families who have paid the price for freedom

LUSTING 4 A LOVER

The Lovers Moon It was the night of the full moon some called it the lovers moon. She was beauty a goddess dressed in the color of the night. Dressed in black So sexy, so sensual, She was a goddess of desire a goddess of the night. Longing and aching like he did to share herself with someone on this night. This night of the lovers moon. Her lips painted a sensual and seductive shade of red. He had waited patiently for her. He walked in the shadows of the night. She could feel him she could feel his passion and taste his lust. She met him in a hotels courtyard the full moon shining its light down on them. The Goddess and her lover standing before one another finally. Under the Lovers moon. She wore a black dress that fit to the curves of her body. She wore sexy black thigh high stockings and black heals. She could feel his heat grow stronger. The fires of his passion burning more intensely. Tonight they would find and feel their destiny together. Their bodies drawn close. Their lips even closer. They looked into each others eyes feeling the paradise of desire as they kissed. Their passions flared under the moonlight. They soon checked into the hotel to continue their night of destiny and desire. The room had a skylight as they had secured the penthouse suite. It was nearly midnight as they kissed and touched The moon looking in thru the skylight. She slid off her dress. Revealing even more of her sensual seduction in the form of a black corset. She slid into bed. Making a motion with her finger for him to join her there. He crawled into bed as she lay back. His body rubbing against hers as they kissed, slowly, sensually and romanticly. As the clock hit midnight she felt him slide inside of her. She pulled him even closer to her. Their bodies close, their heart and soul even closer. As they kissed as they touched as they made love under the lovers moon. Fulfilling their destiny The goddess of desire and her man. They would relax together in the hot tub. The only light that from candles and the moon. Music of desire playing. Their bodies painted together on a canvas of desire. The fires of their passion burning stronger then ever. Finally they were able to relax together feeling the paradise of the night. As they looked into each others eyes making love under the lovers moon. As they would drift off to sleep together remembering this night forever. Her head resting on his chest, her arm draped over him and his arm wrapped around her. Cuddling together in their dreams under the lovers moon. Lusting for a lover
