Rene Lalique and Louis Comfort Tiffany were two of the great artists and jewellers and glass makers of the Art Nouveau period. Both men were great innovators. Tiffany pioneered the use of metal foil to wrap bits of glass, taking the art of stained glass from the two dimensions into three. Meanwhile, Lalique was the first jeweller to adopt the use of the tour a reduire method to reduce life sized profiles to medallion size.
So my question, which of these two innovations have made the larger impact on the field of design? |
