For some time I have been contemplating an end to the Houston chapter of my life. I am currently living in my childhood home following the death of my mother 5 years ago. I stayed because of my father, my brother and my 85 year old next door neighbor who is like a second mother to me. My dad passed away in 2005.
In October and November, my house was broken into. While folks get broke into all over the country, this is personal to me. Today, I became acutely aware that we have become a target. I actually saw a guy driving around casing my neighborhood. He had no idea that I had roofers watching him as he drove up and down the street in front and behind my house. My workers confronted him in the street as I drove up to block him. The guy just stared at me as he drove off. Ok I'm freaked out and ready to get the hell out of here. I just don't know where to go.
So, if you were in my shoes, where would you move? What would be your ideal place to live and why? |
