FMIL= Future Mother In Law
DF= Dear fiance
FMIL and my DF and I got in a huge fight like a week and a half ago...It never really got resolved but we have all been keeping the peace....
DF comes home and shows me a message from his mom that says: "Did you take my chair cover home? I am missing one."
DF: "No."
FMIL: "I thought Kayla might have taken it to use for a pattern or something. Are you sure she didn't?"
DF:" NO. Not that I remember, mom."
I'm trying mostly to just laugh this off because we have far more serious issues with her but I kind of feel like she accused me of theft. I would NEVER take something from somebody without asking.....especially a horrid chair cover made from a towel!
What do you think? Innocent question? My friend says FMIL is trying to 'stir something up'...
Should I send her a kind message reassuring her that I didn't take it? |
