I want to start by saying that I am not a Cowboys fan. Not at all. I don't like any team from Dallas. There are a lot of reason that I won't go in to, but lets just say that I am a very happy girl indeed when either the Mavs or the Cowboys fail miserably.
I was saddened by the loss in the final minutes by the Spurs to the Mavs last night, but the game I just witnessed for the NFC Wild Card turned my frown upside down.
When the season started, I didn't really feel the 'boys would make it to the playoffs. Bledsoe just wasn't gonna cut it and TO has too much attitude. When Parcells substituted Romo in the second half of the first game against the Giants and I watched that boy play, I got a little scared.
My appreciation and respect for Tony Romo has grown over the course of the last several weeks. I've never been one to cheer for any Cowboy, but after watching the enthusiasm with which Romo played, I couldn't help but admire him. His ability to improvise and make plays made all the difference for the Dallas Cowboys.
All of that being said, it is fitting that the game that ended Dallas' season was lost due to an error on the part of Tony Romo. The fumbled FG almost broke my heart. Almost. I was close to feeling real sympathy for the young, inexperienced, yet charismatic Romo. I can imagine how he felt as that ball slipped out of his hands, then as he was tackled before the goal line. I was just about to throw my hands up and say "OH NO POOR ROMO!!!".....but then I remembered what team name was on his jersey and that caused me to shout for joy!! WOO HOO COWBOYS SEASON IS OVER AND I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER :D
Sorry 'bout your luck Cowboy Fans...better luck next year....or not. ;)
