I love to dance. When you're performing on stage, you become free. People look at you on the spotlight and they can only accept you for who you are. You can express yourself in whichever way you like, and no one can judge you for that. No pretentions. It's all about individuality.
I love music. I've been playing the piano since I was six years old, learned to play the guitar when I was ten. The first time I sang in front of the crowd was in my mom's friend party. I was called the Little Madonna. Yet I sang Donna Cruz. I appreciate all genres, from folk to classical to bubblegum pop to metal. I recognize that there is still beauty in melodies and lyrics put together--music unites the world. It can move hearts to love and souls to dance.
I like to write. I want to believe I'm good at it. I was a member of Matanglawin Publications, a Tagalog magazine that provides alternative journalism to the Ateneo community with an objective of opening their elite eyes to the socio-political realities in the country. However if you ask me, I prefer to write in English. I also like reading books especially Filipino literature by F. Sionil Jose and Tony Perez, the classic Harry Potter Series and works by Paulo Coelho.
I like watching indie films and art films. I think that they are the films that truly make sense. They portray movies as a real form of expression, an avenue to bring awareness, an opportunity to capture the reality of life. My favorite movie is "Run, Lola, Run", a German film which which shows how our lives could be altered even by the smallest choices that we make, and smallest differential in time.
The film explores the events that fate alone controls and displays the constant "what if's" that occur every moment and that can easily change the happenings of the next. The film follows the events between a woman, Lola, and her boyfriend, Mani, who she desperately tries to save from death by helping him obtain a huge amount of money he carelessly lost. It takes you on three different journeys with Lola, all controlled by fate, showing you what would happen in each, and all the "what if's" that provide the foundations for each outcome.
I don't have any sport. I like to be good at basketball but I can't shoot a lay-up. I like to watch though. Olsen Racela is my all-time favorite basketball player. AAF! Hahahaha
