Shadow Vampire
Many dark centuries have passed since the first vampire was created. During that time an evolution occurred in the ranks of the Vampire legions. New breeds rose to follow their different paths... among them walks the Shadow Vampire.
Unknown to most they developed many powers such as the ability to observe and absorb the talents and feelings of these they encountering their journeys, In time of great danger they found the Shadow Realm. A place not easily tolerated, causing great pain and even death to many that tried it, but a few intrepid individuals adapted and survived in the Shadow Realm without harm... thus the Shadow moniker.
As the centuries have passed they have crossed paths with many other breeds finding many that the like and even more that they don't. Perhaps it was because of the nature of the Shadow Realm with its constant sameness that their curiosity became so strong. Intrigued by the powers of the others displayed they sought out and learned all they could, practicing and working until they were able to exercise these powers at will. Eventually evolution made it possible for them to simply observe and absorb with just the merest of touches. The one drawback to this talent was that they were not able to filter out the emotions that made the humans, they most loved to observe, human. The emotion that intrigued and eluded them most was called love.. They felt it changing them but were helpless before its siren call.
The Shadow Vampire became the peacekeepers, protecting their beloved humans with the powers they acquired over the eons. Their thirst was no longer quenched by blood, but instead by the emotion of love, which they hungered after incessantly. They found the passion on which they thrived strongest in the throes of lust. Their sexual nature has served them well over the centuries. Coming to their feast like a cooling breeze on a hot summer's night and bestowing sensual pleasures beyond description on their chosen ones.
To further satisfy their constant hunger they learned to move about in the light of day. Not many of them exist anymore, the centuries of adaptation having taken its toll. But, the few that do exist and walk among us today are only recognizable by the powerful sexual energy that surrounds them. Most of them can only be described as utterly beautiful while others take on the guise of simpler fold... but, there is no mistaking the power in their eyes that draws the heat from the heart of a human and turn it into a raging inferno.
