I figure there are enough parents with opinions on this site that maybe I'll get some decent advice.
My boyfriend and I have a kid. She's a year and a half old. My family loves him, so there's no issue there, but his father *hates* me with a passion. So much so that he wants to have his *own special* holidays with my child, which I will not be invited to. He says he won't come to anything I'm involved in, which I think is fucked, but I don't want to keep him from his granddaughter. Thing is, between my family (my parents are divorced, so I have separate everythings because of that) and the family Tim has that likes me (fine, that's only like 3 people--not the point), I already have to plan around a ton of peoples' schedules.
So, I guess the question is do I plan things around him? Or do I just tell him if he wants to see her, he'll play like a grown up and deal with being around me for a few hours? |
