Graffiti artists who are drawn to the art form for individual expression are much more creative with their work. They turn to graffiti because they believe that hip-hop style is the closest representation of who they are as a person and the background that they have. They feel that the way they would like people to view them is best expressed through hip-hop. The basis of this is in the socialization of the person as a young child and the environment in which he or she grew up.Artists in this category usually work to master intricate designs of "wild-style" graffiti that say little more than their street names, but offer very appealing aesthetics.

Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone.
In order to understand KRS-One, it is imperative that you either understand hip hop as opposed to rap or open your mind to the reality of what is going on around you. KRS-One is not a bullshit artist. His career began in 1986 and since then no other rap or hip hop artist has come close to his consistency with hit albums. 1987, Criminal Minded, 1988, By All Means Necessary, 1989, Ghetto Music, 1990, Edutainment, 1991, BDP Live Hardcore, 1992, Sex And Violence, 1993, Return of the Boom Bap, 1995, KRS ONE. Having lectured at Harvard, Yale, Vassar, Columbia, N.Y.U. and Stanford, KRS-One is nicknamed "The Teacha." There is only one KRS-One. That's it, that's all, solo, single, no more, no less. KRS-One has been quoted as saying "This is rebellious music, not gangster music." KRS-One is beyond rap, he is a manifestation of hip hop culture. KRS-One is a force in rap so powerful that his songs are sampled by many artists, giving rise to other hit records for these artists.
The Universal Zulu Nation, originally known simply as The Organization, is an "international hip hop awareness" group, which arose among reformed street gang members in New York City in the 1970s, formed and headed by hip hop music pioneer Afrika Bambaataa.
Though the Sugarhill Gang inaugurated the history of recorded hip-hop with their single "Rapper's Delight," a multi-platinum seller and radio hit in 1979, the group was cooked up to cash in on a supposed novelty item. Music-industry producer and label-owner Sylvia Robinson had become aware of the massive hip-hop block parties occurring around the New York area during the late '70s, so she gathered three local rappers (Master Gee, Wonder Mike, and Big Bank Hank) to record a single. Infectious and catchy, "Rapper's Delight" borrowed the break from Chic's "Good Times" and became a worldwide hit, eventually selling more than eight million copies.
James Brown passed away December 25, 2006. Our best wishes, thoughts and prayers go out to Mr. Brown's family, friends and loved ones. We feel extremely blessed to have had the opportunity to work with such a loving man, extraordinary musician, cultural icon and world class entertainer. James Brown was and will always be a true legend in every sense of the word. He will be missed by millions but his influence on music, culture and the countless number of lives he touched will carry on for decades to come.
As each of the group's members embarked on solo careers, RZA continued to produce nearly everything Wu-Tang related during the period 1994-1997, producing in both the "hip hop producer" sense (composing and arranging the instrumental tracks) and in the wider "music producer" sense (overseeing and directing the creative process as well as devising song concepts and structure). Indeed, RZA's rule over the Clan at this time is described by himself in 2004's Wu-Tang Manual book as "like a dictatorship". His sound was to develop from the raw, minimalist sounds of Method Man's Tical and Ol' Dirty Bastard's Return to the 36 Chambers to more cinematic and expansive soundscapes driven by string sections or thick layers of synthesizer on Ghostface Killah's Ironman, GZA's Liquid Swords and Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. All of the group's albums during the period from 1994 to 1996 are highly regarded by critics and hip hop enthusiasts.

StonesThrowRecords
P.B Wolf:Stones Throw Records is a very personal label for me. I put out what I personally like and save the rest for the other labels out there. As executive producer, I don't put out what I think the people will like, I put out what I like. This has worked for me so far, and if it stops working for me, it will be the end of Stones Throw as a label. I've passed on some artists that I knew would sell a lot of units because I didn't like the songs. That sounds like a bad business move and from a purely financial standpoint it is one, but profit isn't the only thing that drives my label. If money were my sole motivation, I'd be rich by now because so far I've attained everything I've put my mind to. I may be wealthy someday, but only as an indirect consequence of putting out what I believe to be good music.
"There’s no rule to that. It’s only your own rule, you’re the one behind the boards, you’re the one creating. That’s what’s important. Cats always wanna know how you do it. It’s just what you bring to the table that’s all. You’re the machine behind the machine."
Pat Douthit better known as 9th Wonder) is a hip hop producer from Raleigh, North Carolina, USA . He is the main producer for the group Little Brother. As part of group, Little Brother, he has gained widespread recognition and critical acclaim from hip-hoppers worldwide.9th Wonder has a smooth and soulful production style that relies on samples from artists such as Al Green and Curtis Mayfield. He attributes the bass lines that he uses in production to DJ Premier, Pete Rock and J Dilla, while he claims to have learned "moans" from RZA.
DJ Muggs' beats have been known for their dusty-sounding, eerie and soul-driven melodies. Most of Cypress Hill's production was minimalistic with hard-hitting drums and bass, looped throughout the song; the recent GZA album Grandmasters featured that production. In the later 90s/early 00s, Cypress Hill began incorporating rock more into their beats, coming away with a rap/rock sound akin to that of Rick Rubin. This gleaned spotty reactions from many fans, though just about as many praise the change.
The Psycho Realm was started by brothers Jack Gonzalez aka(Sick Jacken)and Gustavo Gonzalez(aka Duke)from the Pico-Union area of downtown Los Angeles. They hooked up with Louis Freeze (aka B-Real of Cypress Hill) in 1993, after B-Real saw them performing at Olvera Street in downtown Los Angeles. Psycho Realm was doing an ‘End Barrio Warfare’(End Gang Warfare) concert and B-Real happened to be there. He hit them up after the show, and joined the group a few years later.Their music has more of a political/spiritual type of sound, with street life experiences. They rap about many issues that are affecting the world today.
