Had a Project Graduation Meeting for my daughter last night. At our first meeting, we voted on a place to have it - either the Skating Rink, or the Bowling Alley. The kids voted on the Skating Rink due to them being able to play extreme games, etc. Well at last night's meeting, we are informed that the Skating Rink will cost an extra $100. So we were given the option between the Skating Rink, the Bowling Alley, and then added to the list was a hall at the Fair Grounds. This caused total chaos. A bunch of the kids thought the hall would be the best place now, and it was the cheapest of the 3. Well, a parent stood up and said that due to legal rules of the meeting, we could only vote on the first two places since they were in the original ballot - we could not add another place. She stated that if that were the case, a new place could come up at every meeting, and we'd never get to the bottom of it. In the end, the kids voted on the Skating Rink.
Question is - should the new hall have been included in this meeting's vote? Or are we required to stick to the rules? |
