How can I tell you when tears fall and words scar my broken heart? How can I deny you when all's lost and you're there lost and alone? How can I continue when our love and shared dreams just aren't enough?

Silence hovers over as a cement weight ready to obliviate, blessed escape release. Tension stifles as a smoke filled wind unbearable, caustic, then clarity. Fury burns as kerosene volitile, explosive smothered.

I look to you Lips of satin, lashes lace your crystalline eyes Your flaw is self perception Perfection unseen. I reach to you Love and frustration sadness in joy Bonded through distance Adoration unconditional I bow to you Admire your sense of honor, of sisterhood Love among dragons Everlasting

Shelter breeze filled palms Sea mingled passion Sweet cries among the gulls Perfection savored. Dances primal rhythms Merging, swell with the ocean Tide rising higher still Lunar melody Sunset hued afterglow Reflections soften purple blue Peace on our island Slumber paradise.

A name is called in honor A soldier stands erect The stately walk gives pause for a moment to reflect. He looks back on a lifetime of missions won and lost And wonders if the glory here is worth the total cost. Looking to the nightmares and harsh reality and all the while defending a life he'd never see. Living with the demons and ghosts from lifetimes gone and mourning what he couldn't change and what he had done wrong. And as the soldier steps up accepting outwardly Tears of pain and sheer regret where no one else can see. As the recognition is shown for job done well Soldier keeps his chin up proud inside a living hell.

Metallic shine silver Embossed symbolic pride Motherland incarnate Flawless, precious. Dulled luster fades Engraving withered, gone Balding near extinction Broken, dying. Two sides come together Night into day, black to white Merged, unstoppable Both priceless.
